After many years, and many attempts, a film version of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower is finally getting underway with Idris Elba confirmed as the gunslinger and Matthew McConaughey as the mystical foe known as the man in black.

And there is actually one set between 4 and 5 that came out a few years ago.

Called Wind Through the Keyhole. I actually liked it better than all the Dark Tower books except 4.

Don't skip it.

I'm interested in starting this series.

Couple questions:
1. I see that the first book The Gunslinger has been revised recently by King. Should I read the revised version or the original?
2. If I make it through the whole series, should Wind Through the Keyhole be read between 4 and 5 or saved for last?

To be fair, he would crush that role like he does every other part he gets.

Don't let the haters dissuade you from finishing the series.

I didn't like the idea of what King did so I initially skipped the last 3 books.

During my Katrina refugee stay in Houston, I read them and really liked them although admittedly my expectations were a bit low given the hate the final books received.
