After apparently turning down $99 million to reprise his role as Bond a couple of months back, Sony has returned to the table to offer Daniel Craig the outlandish sum of $150 million to bring back his personal brand of squinty, moody 007. According to a source close to Radar ,"the studio is desperate to secure the actor's services while they phase in a younger long-term successor." So far the list of alleged successors ranges from Tom Hiddleston, to Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender to relative unknown—and apparent bookies' favorite—James Norton.

I don't understand the point of bond movies. Are they just a set of individual capers?

Fassbender would be interesting.

It must be nice to have so much money that you can bring yourself to decline $99 million for making a single fricking movie.

$150 mil? I just don't believe that.

Give me that money and I'll let you perform surgery on my arse to make me look exactly like Daniel Craig.

It'll be $25m in salary and then the rest based on the "take". Last JB brought in $1.2b

I want Hiddleston.
I love Fassbender but I wish he'd do other projects.
Craig hates being Bond. He said not too long ago he'd rather be dead than play Bond again.

It's time that they had a female James Bond. Get with the times

They are always global nefarious plots by super villians foiled by an extremely gifted british spy. seriously wtf is wrong with you.

I know the SJWs are drooling over having a black bond

You're trying harder than Allison Collins

I'm not a SJW but I still feel like Idris would kill it as bond

A little outside the box, but I can see it.

At this point, why not have a series of Double 0 agents who are doing work in various parts of the world? Expand the Bond franchise to others - male and female alike - and do movies off of them?
Bond is a solitary figure. I get it. The height of individualism. You would still have James Bond, but maybe things should go a different direction for a while.
Who really wants to see Bond rebooted, anyway? Again with another smooth, tuxedo wearing secret agent from the 1960's? It seems really dated at this point and is nothing at all like how intelligence work actually goes.
Why keep advancing the myth?
Or, just make the future Bond movies period pieces and go back and place him in the 1960s again. You have to do something to update the concept if he is going to be contemporary, I think.
