im pretty sure they have made more money with Craig than anyone else who has played bond. They will probably offer him more.

I consider Craig the 2nd best Bond after Connery of course. I like his rugged/blunt instrument style balanced with shrewd precision. Casino Royale is definitely my favorite Bond film. Much respect for Craig getting out on top before the enevitable "he was too old to continue" criticism arises.

I like him as Bond. Casino is one of my favorite movies. The plots to the last 3 were crap. Yes, Skyfall was crap. Not QOS but not far off. The whole premise of secluding M, then drawing in the bad guys with no backup was pure stupidity. Hell, even the writers agreed since it ended with failure.

Don't get me started on Spectre. From the one shot Exploding Evil Lair to Bond letting Blofeld go without a bullet to his face. Trash. Unrelenting garbage.

This calls for a celebration.

Now, lets get back to Bond being Bond.

It's a big loss because Christoph waltz said he won't return if Craig is gone. Hopefully waltz does return.

According to a report from The Daily Mail, actor Daniel Craig has officially let MGM know that he's done playing James Bond, turning down an offer of £68 million ($99 million US) to return to the franchise for two more installments. Aside from the $99 million, the deal also included endorsements and profit sharing as a producer. Some estimates speculate that in reality, Craig is walking away from a figure closer to $175 million US.

He's been saying he's been done since right after Skyfall. I wouldn't be surprised if this was just posturing again. However, maybe he finally is fed up.

In the top tier with Connery and Dalton

Niven and company are fun and all, but I don't count non-007 films.

In related news, this reports suspiciously coincides with bookmakers around the world no longer accepting bets on whether Tom Hiddleston will succeed Craig as 007. There were even sightings of Hiddleston meeting with Spectre director Sam Mendes and executive prodcer Barbara Broccoli. Could an announcement be imminent?

This is good news. I think Hiddleston could kill it.

love how these actors get "tired" of a character. i remember pierce brosnan fighting to get out of his contract with the remington steele people so he could play bond.... then whining that he didn't want to be type cast

In Entourage when Vince was worrying about being typecast playing Aquaman while they were at a Laker game, Ari goes off and say over there is the Joker, over there another character they are typecast as rich guys

I don't care for Craig as Bond, but if he's really turning down $100,000,000 to be James Bond, then he is a straight up moron, posturing or not. That's the type of money where your great great great grandchildren don't ever have to work again.

Wow he's crazy not to take that payday. But if he doesn't want to play 007 anymore then he needs to walk. Playing bond is a privelage. Hiddelston will be a good 007.

I have never seen the old Bond movies (outside of Dr. No), but I thought Daniel Craig was a great James Bond. I'm sure he wasn't the best, but he did well enough.

No offense, but this is contradictory...how can you know if Craig is a great James Bond if you don't really know what Bond is supposed to be?
