You mention those, but not Goodfellas? Go get your shinebox.

Was a Chicago PD detective for 20yrs. Mann hired him as a consultant for Thief, put him in as a cameo and the rest was history.
He was a classic American character actor, made everything better he was in. Comedy, drama, no matter what he was great.
Snatch- he almost steals the movie. Out of Sight- he was Lopez' dad, and was great. He should've gotten an Oscar nod for Get Shorty. It's one if the best comedic performances of the last 20+yrs.

You think he's a clown? Does he amuse you?

That wasn't Farina in Goodfellas

"You and that other dummy better start getting more personally involved in your work, or I'm gonna stab you through the heart with a frickin' pencil. Do you understand me?"

Yep. Talk about someone needing to get their shinebox.

That may be my favorite.

Do people honestly not know then difference between Frank Vincent who's like 5'6" and has a thick NY accent and no mustache vs Farina who is tall and slender with a thick Chicago Accent and a mustache?

Loved him in Bottle Shock too.

His role in Big Trouble was great as well in an underrated movie:
That's one of the most underrated comedies I've ever seen. Absolutely hilarious, with an incredible cast. The book is funny as hell too.
Plus, there's plenty of bonus Florida gator jokes.

When you almost steal a movie from Charles Grodin, whose already stolen it from Bobby Deniro, you've done something right there.

Frank Vincent
Deniro discovered Vincent and Pesci (who were friends) and pointed them out to Marty.
Pesci kills Vincent in Goodfellas, and Vincent kills Pesci in Casino.
None of that is relevant to Farina, but, good info nonetheless.

I thought the Crime Story TV series was awesome too. From Michael Mann hot off Miami Vice. Don't know if it's streaming anywhere, but the first season was great. Still love the intro, set to Dell Shannon's Runaway. Damn I'm old.

Farina was also the first Jack Crawford on screen, in Mann's "Manhunter".
