I've got a crazy suggestion: before opining on what you think is true about this movie, why not wait until you see it before commenting on it?

What a pussy. Can’t stand the Reddit tards that always cry when art doesn’t take a firm stance. If you present an opinion that even slightly deviates from their own (or no opinion at all), they cry and say it’s irresponsible

+1 it's not a redditor, he's an actual movie critic. I believe he was with the LA times.

Well it's a political movie.

This is the feeling I got from early screenings. The war isn’t really the focal point in the sense of the why it happened just that it is happening and the journalists in the movie are showing how it affects people living in society

Well that sounds like just another horrors of war movie except this one is set in America. Will this particular war movie show me some "cost of war" angle that other war movies haven't? Maybe.

This movie is about an American civil war and in the United States right now, there are two political sides and depending on your perspective, one is good and the other is bad.

By the end of the movie, the film maker will let us know which is which. He won't be able to help himself.

Don’t think anyone is wish casting anything.

But when a movie claims not to be political, yet critics (who are overwhelmingly on one side of the political spectrum) love it, it’s not crazy to think that it really is a political lecture.

Maybe it’s not, but in todays Hollywood climate, that would be a pleasant surprise

You've made the best point in this thread.

A MSM propaganda piece. Will be just like the real life MSM fake news.

Movies are essentially just varied levels of propaganda now that you just hope are entertaining enough to be worth ignoring it.

Yes, Alex Garland is known for his propaganda agenda.

Y’all need some help.

There is no help for politards. They are terminal. Doesn't matter if their chosen side even won. They can't enjoy it because they always need someone to fight against.

I just think most people finally see the agenda in these movies now. Nobody makes just a movie now in Hollywood. You'll notice it when you see it.

The reading comprehension of the general public is atrocious.

I have no idea who Alex Garland is. Glad he is so special to you.

Then why did you leave the poli board to come post in this thread.

If you’ve never heard of Alex Garland then you’re certainly not a movie tv fan.

But continue being triggered. You guys are hilariously simple.

Yup. Super annoying. It also reeks of a critic who made up their opinion before watching the movie.

I still don’t know if I want to see it. I’m just exhausted by politics and even if the movie isn’t political, people are going to react like it is political. Like I was dreading seeing reviews

I remember when I first saw the preview for this and just groaned. I was like do we really need this.
