re: Crackpot ASOIAF Theories SPOILERS

I think when Bran and Meera get to the wall, they find out Jon and Sansa have gone back to Winterfell and they head that way. Meera probably sends a raven to her father to let him know to meet her at Winterfell. They all get to winterfell and Bran asks Howland about the vision in front of Jon. BOOM.

Has anyone read The Ice Dragon? It's a children's (-ish) book by GRR Martin, and my son and I read it last year...basically there are ice dragons just like there are regular dragons that can breathe, you guessed it, ice instead of fire. Supposedly in the book the last one had died hundreds of years before GOT takes place (at least I think that's the timeline). But of course there was at least one left...
My crackpot theory has the Walkers showing up at Winterfell, with an Ice Dragon, and that's really what brings winter to Westeros.
Of course, an Ice Dragon has never been mentioned that I can recall in GOT proper, but I can imagine a battle between the dragons in the air while the WW and Westerosi battling it out on the ground as making for a pretty epic finale.

How in the f is anyone gonna learn about Jon's parentage??? How can Bran possibly prove it??? And where in the f is Howland Reed???
That's pretty much the major ways, I'd guess - Bran and Howland Reed. Other than that maybe Wylla (if that was her) and whoever the other woman who was in the chamber when Ned went in if they are still alive. And maybe something buried in the crypt/tomb with Lyana. That would seem to be have been dangerous though since Robert went to visit that tomb at least once.

I did read that story. An argument can be made for the world being the same one as GoT at a different time or maybe a similar world. (I think GRRM has a thing for writing worlds with extreme weather - especially cold). But I don't see an Ice Dragon being a part of either GoT or ASOI&F though.
I'd always thought that a great ending for the books would be a bunch of children gathered in a room around a fire with Old Nan (who would somehow still be kicking) as a new winter has arrived and she would tell them something like "if you think this winter is something, let me tell you of one not so very long ago ...". Of course I'm pretty sure Old Nan is dead now and I'd pictured the children as being Rickon's grandchildren or something so that part ain't gonna happen for sure.

The show felt it necessary for us to see Rickon's body and to hear Jon say to bury him in the crypts...maybe we are in for a scene there, during his funeral.
If something is not in writing that proves Jon's ID, I don't see him being accepted as a Targ based on a 'dream' Bran had, much less a Royal High-born Targ-not that this is a particularly important detail in the books. Being KitN trumps the bastard card on the show, anyway, but I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking sitting the Iron Throne has little and less to do with his overall arc, unless it's a means to an end.
I don't see how Rhaegar would let the child he believes to be tPtwP be born a bastard, regardless, but if documentation exists, either Ned hid it or Howland has it.
Funny Jon would need to prove this fact when it's already accepted he rose from the dead FFS.
I mean, wouldn't he be arrested for desertion if not?

I read that article too. Sophie confirmed it.
FWIW Sophie is much prettier as a redhead than a blonde...and I say this as a blonde .

I was having a decent day but I was excited to see this thread too.
I'm itching to know what's in the S7 script. I'm still predicting a July 2017 release.
