I missed this comment last week, but I;d have to say this was always inevitable from the beginning, so it;s not something that bothers me at all. I always knew Kiera would eventually decide to fight against allowing her timeline to happen, and that would negate the family arc. The backstory and family arc just was needed to give her reasons to not do it.

help me...I missed the whole xtra large slice....where did that come from? and where is the other time travel device? There should be two. The original one in this timeline, and the 2nd one that Alec buried.

Doesn't Kiera have it? I think Carlos gave it to her after Dillon got blown up, but not completely 100% on that. And I have no clue on the extra large slice either.
ETA: Yeah, Kiera got it from Carlos at the end of episode 12 after Dillon gets blown up.

And the original one was dug up by Jason while he was on a HALO buzz. And he then proceeded to beat the crap out of an innocent civilian in the park after doing so.

I remember that most of the time orange is together, except for the one slice. And then, somehow, it becomes whole, Alec shoves the completed time orange into Escher's flux capacitor chamber, goes back to save Emily.
I cant remember when Emily stood up right before she was gunned down, if she tossed a complete or incomplete part that Kiera went chasing after. I want to say that when they took down Lucas' van, Carlos turned a blind eye, Kiera took the pieces. I think the final piece was hidden in Alec's lab, I just cant remember the sequence of events. But now that we've seen this mutant slice, does that mean that there is still one remaining piece out there from this timeline?

This is the one that Carlos gave to Kiera, Dillon had grabbed it out of the evidence locker to give to douchebag Alec, but blown up beforehand and Carlos took it from Dillon's bag and gave it to Kiera.
