Think I might pick back up with Parks and Rec to clean my pallet. I quit watching that after the first season, but people beyond this board have told me it doesn't really hit it stride until season 2.

Yes sir.

P&R is simply a different show in Season 2. They wiped the slate clean as if the 1st season didn't happen, and retooled the show.

I think it took off once they got rid of Brandanowits(sp?). He was a super lame character and anytime he was part of a story line it was terrible.

It stopped big a complete replica of The Office. Leslie Knope became super sweet instead of a more awkward character it seems.

I thought it was posting comic spoilers in the Walking Dead show thread?

I'll give this a shot. I've watched Firefly twice and while it's a decent show, I don't get the fanfare.

I've tried watching Firefly twice. Can't get past the horrendous opening firefight scene. I will revisit it in the future but Jesus that looks like a firefight from Starship Troopers 8.

I actually just watched it last week. I enjoyed it a lot. Firefly is "the fish that got away." It definitely had a lot of potential, but because it was prematurely canceled, people will build it up in their minds because no one knows just how good it could have been.

That scene sets the overall background of the series, but it really has nothing to do with what the rest of the episodes are. I would compare Firefly to Stargate, and I think it had the potential to maybe be better. We'll never know.

Fun Fact: All the alliance troop and officer uniforms are recycled from Starship Troopers.

If it was on a premium network like those shows are, I think it would rival them to most. For a basic cable station, which isn't much different from the networks these dsys, it's pretty awesome.

Well look at that. I'm assuming "alliance troop and officer uniforms" is referring to Firefly.

i know people say this a bunch with tv shows but ive never seen it more than in Breaking Bad. Its amazing to see how that show becomes a classic season after season.

It's not my favorite show on television either, and I don't like it nearly as much as my friends do. Nonetheless, it's still a really good show though. Just keep watching it more. It gets better after season 1 anyway.

My girlfriend was in the same boat as you. She watched a few episodes and stopped watching it. When she found out I watched it she gave it another shot.

I had to sit and watch every episode all over again because she got hooked once things took off, and by hooked I mean we stayed up until 3-4 am some nights because she just couldn't go to sleep not knowing what happens next haha.

Like everyone said, it gets better and better.

I had no problems with season 1 at all. I thought it was a very good lead off season for a show. Youll notice it's much shorter than the following seasons.

The series has some of the best character development I've seen in any medium.
