Dude is in over his head and the liberal crap is so bad. Letterman was old and stale but was still better than that unwatchable crap.

It really is unwatchable, hence why I don't watch it. I could have watched him on the Colbert Report forever. Losing him and Jon Stewart were a real blow to my tv watching

I wonder if Jon Stewart regrets retiring now. With Trump he has 4 years worth of material that writes itself. He was BY FAR the best. Watching Colbert struggle sucks when he was so damned good. His show I feel is not unwatchable though. If you are a Trumper then his monologue would be horrible, but he has mainstream guests who are there to talk about things other than politics.
The Samantha Bee show IS unwatchable. Utter and complete shitshow. 30 mins of a woman railing against Trump while standing (get a fricking desk and sit down), and her delivery is the delivery of a comedic WRITER. It is terrible.

While we are railing on former Daily Show correspondents, can we talk about how utterly horrible Mo Rocca is on CBS news. How in the hell did that nasally frick land a network gig? Not to mention the fact he is on multiple platforms on CBS. It's mind numbing. Every time I hear that dude speak I automatically change the channel no matter what's on. I don't get it

I loved the Colbert Report, even bought his book, but I haven't enjoyed his Late Show very much. To me, Conan O'Brien is still the standard.

I was never really a Colbert Report fan, but loved Jon Stewart. I don't watch his new show, so I can't comment on that.

I normally go after posters who say EVERY female comedian sucks, but with Samantha Bee???? I get it. She is bad. I watch her monologue sometimes just to cringe. I say "monologue" but the entire show is one. I should qualify that I make it to the first commercial.... Sometimes.

Shows that used to be liberal slanted, sure, but they also had entertainment value, and they poked fun at both sides.
Now its just a lecture about their ideals with no comedic value.
I don't understand this generation of comedy writers, but they're fricking terrible.

Amen. I like making fun of Trump as much as anyone, but all these shows are taking it to another level and just repeat and regurgitate the same jokes over and over for the past year+ now

Wilmore (before being cancelled)
They are all the same show being outraged and the same things and making the same jokes. Even John Oliver got pulled in on it
