currently sitting at just under $991 million worldwide ($314 domestic) and w/it looking like a $30-$35 million US haul this weekend by tomorrow morning CA3 will be the year's first billion dollar movie. It will also likely pass Batman vs Superman's $328 million domestic haul on Sunday.

When did Falcon become a DC character?

I also hear that there are massive openings WB's marketing department as well. These guys had to have all been fired over it.

They were fired for not being able to flip a turd sandwich?

The sad thing, for DC fans, is that Batman vs Superman, which should have been built up to for years, could easily have become the highest grossing movie of all time if someone with half a brain was in charge.
Batman. Superman. The two most biggest superheroes of all time. You don't throw this out right away.
Jesus. Doesn't anyone watch pro wrestling? You build up to this. You tease it, you develop it, you wait for it to come a nice boil... and then you give it to the fans.
And you don't have Zach Snyder direct it.
Mind you, none of that should detract from the fact that CA3 was an amazing popcorn flick with just enough character moments to enhance the great action in the film. It should be studied in film school as how to build up to, and then delivery, a huge blockbuster movie.
I could watch Captain America: Civil War again and again. You would have to pay me to watch BvS again.
And it better be good money.

I don't want to hear any more from you about you being a DC fan. You've jumped on that Marvel bandwagon and you're holding on tight. Enjoy the ride.

Marketing wasn't the problem. They promoted the shite out of Batman vs Superman. But once people saw it they told their friends and then didn't see it a second time. Marvel gets alot of multi-viewers.

Barely a post in and this has already become a BvS thread. Let it go

Honestly, frick off Fewer if you doubt me being a DC fan. DC could release a movie literally devoted to "Batman fricking Superman" and you'd ask for seconds after they came all over your face. I demand quality from franchises I love and not shite as you're so willing to accept.
These movies were total shite and everyone involved should be fired. Seriously, 10 years ago could you fathom that Iron-Man vs Captain America would nearly double the box office gross of Batman vs Superman? Iron-Man and Captain America barely made the Top 10, while Batman and Superman are the Top 2. Anyone creatively involved in this project should be fired. It shite the bed, and you're in denial. Deal with it.

Good.
I hope it makes 2 billion and more.
DC and Warner Bros needs to feel the pain as much as possible with their completion doing so absurdly well to force themselves to take a long and hard look at what they're doing wrong which quite frankly is a lot.

There are definitely some sad and pathetic DC fans that are so desperate for a DC cinematic universe that they're willing to take utter shite upon shite and I'm just legitimately embarrassed for them.
If we're going to have DCCU, it has to be at least decent and not raise too much questions and have too much criticism. It must have good and well condensed plots, character development, action that clearly corresponds to the plot, not disaster porn just for the sake of it, and it must have compelling themes.
Zach Snyder, Chris Terio and David Goyer only see plots, themes, and character development as nothing more than obstacles on their way to the ultimate disaster porn spectacle and mindless skull bashing.

I'd love to have been in a his meeting with Snyder and all the other clowns involved in this:
"So how are we going to start off our own universe?"
"Well 'The Dark Knight Returns' is the most popular Batman comic, and 'The Death of Superman' is the most popular Superman comic. Plus Batman fights Superman in it, and Doomsday is there, who is the most awesome villain ever. Let's start off a fricking franchise with those two!"
"Brilliant!"
Its clear no one who understands the comics or storytelling in general was involved in these meetings. Anyone who knows basic plot structure would have been able to carefully explain to WB why it was a horrible idea to launch a franchise off of these two comic books. I think any one of us would have stopped Snyder cold in his tracks and told him to shut the frick up with his stupid ideas. I really hope Civil War literally doubles BvS's gross. That would be the best thing ever.

As much as I hate it, you're right. I enjoyed the movie...it wasn't good, but I didn't see it in theaters...this moview should not have come out right after MOS. If they wanted to go this route they should have made at least two or three other films to build the universe. It's been discussed ad nauseum on here, but they had Avengers on the mind and couldn't see any other way. It's a disgrace. The film, while I enjoyed it, wasn't that good...people should be fired. Hopefully Affleck rights the ship. It's funny everyone hated he was going to be Batman and now we want him to save the franchise. I went to Civil War last Saturday and it was amazing...brilliant movie. Marvel is head and shoulders above DC...and I prefer DC. Infinity Wars and GOTG2 are going to kill it.

I haven't cared much for any but maybe two of the comic book movies, and I really can't stand Iron Man or The Avengers films. But I watched 'Winter Soldier' just for the hell of it and was amazed how good a move it was. Civil War proved that was no fluke.
I really think it's because of how Chris Evans play him. He's the antithesis to the snarky bullshite you get from characters like Tony Stark, and there's real chemistry between he and Scarlett Johannson.
