My theory is Scarlet Witch cancels out Vision. Once you account for that, they're fairly evenly matched.

Black Panther cancels Cap, Bucky + Antman is a decent match for Widow + Iron Man. I mean I'd still lean Iron Man's team in a fight but Cap's side clearly has better leadership and will at worst be noble losers whereas Iron Man (though he hasn't gone comics level fascist) has shown some clearly villainous tendencies.

(Also lets be I'm not sure what movie Scarlet Witch's power set is)

fter Bucky tried to kill Stark I'm now of the opinion, "frick Cap and his boyfriend." I hope Iron Man beats the living shite out of both of 'em.

Can't see why an arms dealer turned thrill junky who made a murderbot which almost wiped out the planet would have someone who wanted to kill them.

They have the firepower although we don't know where the Russo brothers will go with SW's power. In some versions of the comics she is near unstoppable.

Iron Man vs Cap - pretty even
Black Panther vs Bucky - BP
Vision vs SW - Vision based on powers from AoU
BW vs Hawkeye - BW, we saw this in The Avengers
That leaves Rhodey vs Ant-Man and Falcon - Rhodey has no chance here.

Can't see why you're defending an assassin who tried to kill a reformed arms dealer turned Avenger who, along with Bruce Banner, tried to create a a defense system for the planet that unfortunately went bad but came nowhere close to almost wiping out the planet. Oh, not to mention he was willing to give his life to protect millions of people by manually directing a nuke into freaking outer space.

This is only even because they keep giving Cap more and more power, more than he should have, while nerfing Stark's suits.

Iron Man took a tank shell like it was nothing, went 1 on 1 with Thor, and took down the Hulk. IRL Iron Man wipes the floor with Cap.

If we are going by comic versions, shouldn't Scarlet Witch just wipe the floor with all of them? Even if she was the only one on her team?

I dunno. In the comics over the years I'd put money on Cap the majority of the time. Of course in the comics they sometimes write Captain America with almost a Batman "because he's Batman" kind of view.

Truth is, while Iron Man's team does seem to have a decided advantage in sheer power, comic writers can always craft scenarios for either team to win. Heck, Hawkeye has been an effective foil to Iron Man on several occasions.

I also agree with the person up thread who said it is kinda strange that Black Widow would be on IM's side. Could definitely be an infiltrator.

Of course we all know that in the long run they will get past their differences and combine against an outside foe. (Or will they?).

EDUCATED GUESS SPOILERS THAT I HAVE NO BASIS IN FACT FOR

I think the events of Civil War will play up the events of Infinty War Part I. I think Tony's stance will have far reaching consequences on the ability of Earth to fight Thanos in Part I. Remember Tony's vision of the broken Avengers and Steve blaming Tony for the failure? Here's what I think happens:
- Civil War plays out with both sides surprisingly evenly matched until one team member is gravely hurt or killed. Steve surrenders to stop the violence, and is then seemingly assassinated publicly, ala the comics. Tony takes this hard.
- Chris Evans has said he wants to direct. This gives him a break to do other stuff. In the meantime, Bucky takes up the mantle of Captain America in Steve's absence. Sebastian Stan is signed on for a bunch of movies.
- What will be interesting to see is how they play Tony. I could see them making Tony director of new SHEILD and having him hell bent on proving himself right, doing stupid things leading up to the failure of the Avengers to stop Thanos. Or, I could see them playing him distraught at Steves death and having the Avengers fall apart, so Thanos is able to crush them individually.
- Meanwhile, we know Ruffalo is going to be in Ragnorok, so Hulk has evidently gone to Asgard. Thor and Tony already have a contentious relationship, so I could see those two checking out of Earth for a while.
- I still say the Guardians show up in Infinty War Part II. Probably bring Steve back for that one as well in an all out battle. And Steve will lift and use Mjornir.

i felt like Loki was a good villain, but agree. heroes never seemed in true peril. Ronan was probably my second favorite.

i will agree, DC has done much better with their villains of RAG, Joker, Bane, and even Zod.

I rewatched Avengers 2 this weekend. I absolutely love that movie. I think it is better than the first Avengers and the best Marvel movie yet, though Man of Steel remains my favorite comic book movie ever. Batman vs Superman has a chance to unseat it based on the trailers.

If they give IM the Bleeding Edge Armor in this movie then it's easily IM > Cap.
My spoiler-ish thoughts below. Just my speculation, no facts to go off of.

I wouldn't mind seeing Tony get beat down pretty bad by Cap and Bucky leading to him developing the BE armor that ultimately kills Cap. I've read a few rumors that the latter happens but isn't because of Tony.

Comic book readers know someone will die but will they really do it in a mainstream movie? I mean casual fans like continuity and killing off a Chris Evans or RDJ will make people upset. Maybe they just arrest and place in a holding cell in the movie in order to not upset people.
