Curious as to what would be so different that it would be given the green light.

Perspective from a different group and supposed to show the beginning of the zombie transformation.

I don't really get it either. It seems like AMC is just trying to further capitalize on their most popular show. They're probably just going to over saturate the zombie thing.

Different group that is from Los Angeles and will show the start of the outbreak instead of skipping weeks into it

Instead of starting before the outbreak then skipping ahead a couple of months, this one sticks with the outbreak happening and the fallout from it.

Different cast, different location, different starting point, different plot. I'll give it a shot. Hopefully they don't kill the most talented actor and best character on the show in the first season then spend an entire season on a farm this time.

Though it'd be an amazing troll job if they got to the farm at the beginning of season 2 and left just before Rick and crew showed up.

I'm excited for it. Hopefully they have some competent actors and they isn't flounder. Walking dead killed my interest in the show a little after they got to the prison and I've never been able to get back into it.

I don't get how they think it's a good idea. I thought that could be pieced together given context and what you omitted in my post.

Its a different take on the most popular cable tv show of all time. Its really not that hard to understand why they would think it was a good idea.

Best actor? Seriously? I know that's not saying much given the show but he is a fricking awful actor

The show is full of absolutely horrible shite actors. First and foremost it's main character Rick. He's unwatchabley terrible.

I guess AMC figured if someone can make 5 shitty arse Resident Evil movies then they can make 2 HIGHLY mediocre tv series.

And its probably gonna work. I've stopped watching the Walking Dead because I got bored of the same characters. This is the same premise with a fresh start so I'm gonna give it a shot.

I'm sorry but it's time for zombies to take a hiatus. I say this with a heavy heart as movies like the remake of Dawn of the Dead and the classic Night of the Living Dead are some of my favorite horror films.

Zombies have been given the early Hollywood treatment Dracula received. Next year AMC is going to put out "Bride of the Walking Dead".

Maybe in 30 years someone will make sexy zombie teenage fiction and we'll get new zombie movies but right now I can't watch another hour of bland storytelling with zombie window dressing.
