I see this movie gets rave reviews from this board and I have got to ask why? I thought it was stupid and a waste of 2 hours of my life. Can someone explain the love for this movie?

You obviously don't get the point of the movie. Watch it again. Maybe 3 or 4 more times for you.

Did you go into it thinking it was going to be a scary horror movie? I find a lot of people who go in thinking that don't enjoy it

If you were thinking it was going to be actual horror movie you clearly missed the entire point

Do you understand satire/inside jokes at all? This really wasn't hard to grasp and was just fun as hell to watch.

Yep, most people that hate it I find this to be the case. They seem to miss the entire point of the movie.

When I saw a unicorn stab someone for the first time in my life.. I knew right then the movie would always be okay in my book.

You're more generous than I. I turned it off much sooner.

You may not like the movie. You may have had the wrong expectations. You may not have gotten the point.

With that said, it wasn't stupid, nor a waste of time. Few movies are actual wastes of time, if anything at least you can come out of it with a better ides of things that entertain you. It might save you time later in life, who knows.

The movie starts with a crazy jump scare and loud musical cue to a full screen title page, to punctuate a scene of two guys riding a golf cart talking about baby proofing the house. I mean, I was laughing my arse off right then.

It's really a spectacular satire of horror movies and the industry/audience. I also thinks it works as a horror movie in its own right.

The Jenkins-Whitford dynamic is just awesome in the movie. Almost worth the price of admission alone.

It was a good movie. I do think it is generally slightly overrated, IMO, and I find descriptions of it such as brilliant, etc., to be hyperbolic.
