My son (15) and I watched it last night. We both liked it a lot.
I grew up loving the Transformers back in the 80s. Watched the cartoon, the movie, and collected and played with them.

Watching this movie made me feel like a kid again. Loved the look of the movie. Finally, transformers that look like transformers are supposed to look like.

Had a great 80s feel to it, good action, and a great soundtrack.

It was so much better than the Michael Bay ones.

Saw this a couple days ago and really liked it as well.

Cena had me cracking up with the Decepticons line

my son and I watched it last night and it was good, that is how the transformers should of looked all along.

the only thing I didnt like was that I wish a nostalgic Decepticon would of been chasing them the whole time like Soundwave or Starscream.

EAT: Soundwave would of been awesome with his voice and cassette tapes.

There are a handful of movies the past few years that have absolutely floored me coming out of the theater, as in wildly exceeded all expectations. Bumblebee is one of them. I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying this movie. This is what those Michael Bay movies should have been like all along. I cannot say enough good things about this movie, and my criticisms are few and far between.

A few other ones that gave me similar reactions after the first viewing:
Rogue One
Zootopia
The Greatest Showman
Thor: Ragnarok
Deadpool 2
Into the Spiderverse

I agree. If they were worried at all about continuity, they could have easily made the Decepticons Thundercracker and Sky Warp since I don't think they were used in the other films. Their look would have also been easy to fit into the 80's timeline.

I swear I saw his name in the credits as a producer or something.

Haven't seen it yet, but heard good things. I've got the 4K blu ray waiting at Best Buy for me to pickup. I hope to get a chance to watch it this weekend.

Really enjoyed this. The opening scene was great nostalgia and Charlie was a much better character than what we got from Shia in the first go. This is absolutely how the others should have been

That’s what happens when you have a director who is passionate about the subject matter that he’s directing. It’s why Deadpool was so great.

And yes Michael Bay was a producer. Which can mean a lot or absolutely nothing.

I’m 5 minutes in and I’m already sold on it. The Transformers look great. They look like the ones a remember from my childhood and not the Michael Bay freakdroids.

I can’t believe it was the directors first live action movie. That guys got a future.

Watched it last night. Really liked how they used the original Bumblebee instead of the one Michael Bay used. Very cute movie.

Also that’s how you do female leads. Swap the gender of Charlie and the dude and you don’t have to change anything about the script.

I took my son to see it in theaters and we had a blast. I say F continuity and let that movie be the jump off point for a great universe.

That’s pretty much the plan. Silent reboot.

I loved the look of the transformers and the feel of the movie.

But didn’t really care for the movie, or any of the human characters.

I was sort of immediately thrown off by the transformers all looking like cars, planes, dogs, cassette tapes, etc. while fighting on cybertron.

And I didn’t care at all about the two decepticons chasing down BB.

Still gonna watch every transformer movie they make though.

Just watched it today. I thought it was great. I'm also hearing that it's a reboot and will go forward from here presumably with the same director (and hopefully the new designs). I'm excited to see the new direction.
