Are we to assume Maranzano was indeed killed in the gunfire? I feel like they would have showed him get shot/killed if so.

Maybe I was seeing things, but it looked like he was moving around next to Nucky once the gunfire ended.

I thought they showed him hiding under a chair or something with some blood on his face.

Sidebar: Groundhog day is on right now. I just noticed Van Alden has a 1/2 second part. It's in the part when Bill Murray is in the diner predicting everything that is about to happen.

Great episode.

"My life is a shipwreck right now."

"Well land ho!"

This is bugging me. I need to go rewatch the scene. The way Maranzano was talking leading up to the shooting, it seemed like he knew it was coming. I would like to know definitively if they were trying to kill him too or if he was setting Nucky up.

I would think he wouldn't have been standing that close to Nucky when the shooting occurred had he been involved in the set-up

I believe Nucky was asking where Torrio is, a car pulls up and Maranzano says "Ahh, there he is now." Gunmen step out and bullets are flying. I think Maranzano was duped as well.

I'm sure I missed this but how did that Cuban guy become Nuky's bodyguard?

Yep
I don't think he sanctions or approves of a hit that has him in harm's way.

Well hell, I guess I'm stupid...I thought that young Nucky was just Buscemi in makeup. If that was someone else playing him he did a helluva job..
