Its definitely Dallas for a new generation. I watched it with the wife because of curiosity, and it wasnt totally awful. Ill keep it on the dvr for now. Ill see where it goes. I have experience in the northern parts of North Dakota, so it keeps my attention for now.

the one thing is that North Dakota doesn't have the mountains like they showed on tv

My thoughts are the previews look laughably bad.

Me and the wife tried watching it last night but couldn't get through it, pretty awful IMO.

Set it to record last night. Haven't had time to watch yet. Wondering if this is the new "Dallas" ?

they ended the first episode with Don Johnson standing in a large puddle of oil and in slow motion small pieces of red hot embers are falling down about ready to ignite the oil he is standing in. Then the episode ends. Fade to black, as if someone is going to be injured or perhaps die in a flaming inferno.

Then, right after they cut to black, they show highlights of this season's episodes and there is Don Johnson and the other two male actors in all the highlights...which means that no one got hurt or dies at the end of the first episode.

They completely ruined it by immediately showing the season highlights.

That's what I hate about these shows. Predictable and not very concerned about spoiling the plot.

and they are just going to act like all those people somehow survived without a scratch when a fricking inferno was about to get set in that drill site. that whole place should have exploded and yet everyone there is somehow going to survive

When is saw the promo with Don Johnson doing a toast saying "to oil, by God" I knew I was not wasting a single second watching what is obviously total crap.

It's filmed well, but the dialogue is awful. There's a point when Don Johnson tells his son to, "Quit being a coward. Stand up like a man," and then he tells his son, "I'm cutting you off. You're no son of mine."

It was just line after line of incredibly cheesy and unrealistic dialogue.

Literally, different characters all say the following line at least once in the first episode, "So, what's your play?"

I looked at my wife and said, "Who the frick talks like that? What's your play? LOL. Who says that shite in real life? Most people would ask what the plan is, not what your play is. WTF?"

The dialogue is really that bad. But it does look good. Filmed well.

I'll probably give it a few more episodes but, it's really not very good.

Spoilers !!!!!

so, this young guy (who obviously sucks at driving) rides into town hustles $100k from stranger, outwits the big dog oil baron, collects $1.1m from him then ends up joining him, basically saves his life, fights the bad guy and somehow escapes a huge fire while covered in oil?
