Better movie: Casino or Goodfellas

Both are great movies but IMO Casino edges out Goodfellas. Main reason is I think De Niro is a much better lead guy than Ray Liotta. Also think the soundtrack in Casino is better.
ETA: I think Joe Pesci is a lot better in Casino as well.

I prefer Casino. I know that it's blasphemy, but I'm actually not all that wild about Goodfellas. Something about it comes across as cheesy to me.

Goodfellas for me. The part about the bosses cooking the elaborate dinners in prison wins me over.

this, to me this is asking whats better, Steak and Lobster (Goodfellas) or Ramen Noodles (Casino)? Goodfellas is a masterpiece. Sharon Stone in Casino is some of the best unintentional comedy of all time.

Joe Pesci's performance in Casino is amazing as well. Not that he wasn't great in Goodfellas, because he was, but I just think he was better in Casino. I like Nicky more than Tommy.

Another one...I don't get it. I couldn't understand if you were comparing a drama to a slapstick comedy and you said this, but for 2 movies of the same genre, how is the one that is more enjoyable not the better movie?

Weirdly enough, I know what you mean.
IMO it's Goodfellas, and I think I'd rather watch that one. But Casino is good in its own right, and it's more flashy and shiny, if that makes sense.

I think that may be what I like about it so much. The characters are much more flashy and colorful in Casino. Joe Pesci is the prime example.
