Best superhero movie ever?

Doesn't have to be a mainstream superhero movie either. Can be something like Kick-arse or Unbreakable.
Mine would be probably be Spiderman 2. I also like The Dark Knight, but it would be a far inferior movie had it not been for Heath Ledger's performance.

Everyone's gonna say The Dark Knight but the correct answer is Superman 2.

Anything beyond the original Spiderman is blasphemy.
TDK is greatness.
I fricking loved Guardians of the Galaxy.

I actually have always preferred Batman Begins. My favorite superhero film.

Spiderman 2
I can get down with that.
There are others arguable, but SM2 is great and those first Spiderman movies nailed the perfect "comic movie atmosphere" IMO.

I'm partial to Thor: The Dark World

1. Superman: The Movie
I don't think it's really close at all.
Next is probably a tie between X2, The Avengers, and Spider-Man 2
The next tier includes Winter Soldier, TDK, Batman, and Iron Man
Gets murkier from there.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the only comic book movie I've enjoyed even a slight bit so I would have go with them by default. It drives me crazy how the movie studios release 7000 comic book movies every year. I hate seeing so much talent (Nolan, Whedon, Raimi, Branagh, Del Toro, Vaughn, etc...) being wasted on such a crappy genre.

Nolan and Whedon have made two of the top 10 highest grossing movies ever thanks to this crappy genre. I'm sure they don't feel their talents are being wasted.

I'm down with Spiderman 2 as well. It doesn't just have great action sequences, it has one of the best subplots involving a hero's alter ego. I love the Peter Parker sequences with Doctor Octavius. Also, great villain with good motivations and a fitting finale.

Every single one of these directors, sans Branagh, is a mega nerd/geek. This is their playground, probably their childhood, and many of them work on passion projects. This IS them unleashing their talent on something they really enjoy.

Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy were both outstanding.
Days of Future Past was pretty good.
Last year was a great year for superhero movies.
