Don't know that it's my favorite, but I really liked A Love Song for Bobby Long.

That reminds me of a must see documentary. 'Louisiana Story' 1948 is a little goofy but is a great historical document all on LA swamp locations with locals...

Cool, it's in my Netflix que now, thanks.

No Mercy had a lot of scenes filmed in south Louisiana, and was a good flick too not mentioned.

That was the movie where a character warned Richard Gere about going across the river to that danterous mysterious Algiers. "Man 'dey cut yo' tongue out in Algiers!)

The Moviegoer is my favorite novel, and Terence Malick was looking to adapt it for film in the 90's. Tim Robbins and Julia Roberts were rumored leads.

If you are a Walker Percy fan, you should look for the documentary about his life coming out later this year. Here's the trailer:

The sad thing is that very few of the movies filmed here right now are actually set in Louisiana. Though there is a Nick Cage movie that just wrapped up called The Hungry Rabbit Jumps that is set in NOLA.
