I say it's the West Wing. "Two Cathedrals." Which ends with "Brothers in Arms" by Dire Straits in the background as President Bartlett walks in the rain about to announce his reelection campaign. TV magic.

First time I watched that episode I said "oh shite" when he started speaking in Latin. I could easily rattle off 10 exceptional scenes in that series without thinking too hard about it.

Two Cathedrals is great. I vote for A House Divided from Dallas. Perfectly written to give everyone a motive to shoot JR.

The Simpsons - "Homer's Enemy"
The episode about Frank Grimes, or "Grimey", as he liked to be called.

The Wonder Years - "Goodbye"
The episode where the math teacher, Mr. Collins, dies at the end.

Meh. Not even the best episode using that song. Miami Vice's best episode (and scene) used this song to great effect, "Out Where the Buses Don't Run"

For a stand alone episode - The Sopranos "Pine Barrens" is a candidate. The Pilot of The Shield is up there. Breaking Bad has "4 Days Out" and "Ozymandias" in the running, I would think.

For comedies - WKRP "Turkeys Away" is my choice.

Star Mitzvah:

Frasier pisses off Noel by not getting Scott Bakula's autograph at the nerdfest - as agreed to for Noel translating Frasier's son's blessing to Hebrew.

As revenge, Noel gives it to him in Klingon.

LOL

The GoT finale this year was the one of the most well done episodes of any show I've ever seen

The MASH episode where Henry is going home but dies in a plane crash was very well done.
