The girl who played Plumette in the 2017 version is Kelly from the San Junipero episode of Black Mirror

My argument was only ever that if the movie had an exlusively gay scene, then it had to be a different scene than the one they released because there was nothing gay about it. Somehow you confused that with a belief that there HAD to be more gay scenes.

Maybe you should shy away from critiquing other people's English.

Why were there so many black people in 1800s France? The wardrobe, the duster, and the book salesmen were are black.

And why were none of them part of the small-minded townfolk crowd?

I saw it this morning and loved it. Beauty and the Beast was one of my favorites as a kid. I also love Emma Watson so whenever this movie was announced a year or go I was pumped.

For the past few months I got nervous because this is obviously just another remake/money grab and when they released the first song a few weeks ago I didnt think Emma sounded that great.

But the movie was awesome, the music was great. I agree Emma may not be the strongest singer but she was still really really good. She didnt improve on the original but she didnt hurt it either.

I didn't care about the gay stuff before seeing it. But if people are boycotting for stuff as subtle as it was I don't know how they manage to live day to day in this world. What do they think about all the interracial couples? There were like 4.

Go see it.

Its killing it in the box office

That is bs revisionist history from you. That was not how you explained it in the other thread.

Saw it today and thought it was great. Thought the casting in the movie was good to great. Nobody seemed miscast to me. Music was very good, visuals were exceptional. Probably exceeded my expectations.

I'm in my mid-thirties and I grew up during the Disney Renaissance period (Little Mermaid -> Beauty and the Beast -> Aladdin -> Lion King). I remember watching them countless times on VHS.

Nostalgia from a quarter century ago + great visuals + same great music made me really enjoy this movie. 8.5/10

Saw it today.

First: Very good. Not the best (and I'm not sure it's better than The Jungle Book), but it was really good.

The Good: Luke Evans killed it. The extra backstory for both Belle and Beast was a nice touch, made their relationship more believable. Most of the Furniture was well done. Kevin Kline. The Enchantress. The music.

The Meh: Watson as Belle. Not horrible, but she could have been more emotive. The visuals, I felt removed a little too much. The horrible evil townspeople, they could have done without that.

The Bad: Josh Gad. He is the worst. His singing. His delivery on every smarmy line. His "redemption." Ugh. I've never liked him in anything though. I think he is terribly unfunny, and talentless.

If you are okay with your kid watching Who Framed Roger Rabbit then there is no fricking reason whatsoever for you to not be ok with this movie.

And then some of these guys were expecting some hardcore gay sex scene? That's just even more troubling their minds go there.

They were secretly hoping for one.

That, the frequent use of foul language, crude slang terms for sex and male erections, as well as a pair of crude hand gestures. Some parents may have a problem with those things.

You mean the stuff that would go completely over kid's heads like certain "jokes" or "situations" do in most Disney movies.

This is humorous because you seem to be implying children shouldn't be protected. You sound like a fool. My mother-in-law was going to see the film anyway. She's just someone I trusted to tell me if it was ok for my kids or not. No different than asking other parents I trust. It may surprise you to know that good parents often do this. There are even websites dedicated to parents rating films based on appropriate age ranges. It's clear from your comments that you don't recognize good parenting, so I doubt you're familiar with the practice.

Lol. Your kids are going to be the most unpopular kids in school. They will get beat up constantly all because you are such a wimpy little bitch that you can't have a somewhat uncomfortable talk with your kids. You are the worst kind of parent. You are the kind that thinks "if my kids don't see it, then it doesn't exist and I never have to talk to them". God damn you are a terrible parent. You should kill yourself for your kids sake.

Are you dense? The guy said it was an "exclusively" gay moment. He's the director. Who else am I supposed to believe about the film?

You finger yourself in the butt in the shower and pretend it's some guys cock don't you? Come on.... admit it. You are far to hung up on this gay thing to not be harboring some homosexual feelings.

Can we stop with this constant back and forth between the two of you and get back to the movie?

Really, dude, you've pushing it. Parents choose what they think is best for their kids, and I'd far rather see parents trying to protect their kids (even if I think this particular issue is really, really silly) than be apathetic. Calling out his parenting without evidence he's a bad parent is kind of out of line. I'd let my kids see it without a single qualm. He has a problem with it. Both are examples of parents making the choices they feel comfortable with. I won't defend his perspective. I think it's wrong. But so long as I believe he's sincerely trying to do what's best for his kids, I'll defend his right to have it.
