I didn't have much TV access growing up, but BattleBots was a formative part of my existence anyhow. When I built my own Nerf sentry gun out of Lego Mindstorms, or played my favorite boardgame RoboRally, I was imagining the destructive forces I could unleash if only I had some real robot parts at my disposal. Disney's Big Hero 6 brought all those memories flooding back when I saw it in theaters a few months ago. But those Disney robots weren't real like the BattleBots were.

Some guy distantly related to me was really fricking into this and on the show a time or two. I talked to him about it at a family reunion like 10-15 years ago since I loved it so much. Don't remember anything other than him saying how awesome and hard it was.

This was my TV show I worked on. I was a PA and got to drive around Gary Coleman who was hilarious and Carmen Electra
They were filming on Treasure Island while I was going to film school in SF. Made great friends and connections from that show. After a wrap party a few of us went out including Gary Coleman. Dude was outrageous. He was so drunk and was saying the craziest shite. This was 2001, my cell was old as hell and didn't have any sort of recorder feature but I did call my gf at the time so sh could listen to this and he talked all kinds of shite to her
