Surprised they gave that away

Yea me too. Wish they had not

Gave away a little too much, pretty ruch rendered their fight pointless. I mean obviously we assumed they'd end up on the same side, but that just seemed like a condensed version of the movie

I have no problem with them having Doomsday in the movie, but I was not a fan with how that looked. His face looked weird.
The Batman vs Superman fight looks awesome.

I guess my theory on Superman dying might be correct. I knew there was something to him not having any movies announced.

Really don't like what they're doing with Lex. I think its kinda early to bring in Doomsday. There's gonna be too much crammed into one movie. Other than that it looks ok.

I feel like I just watched the whole movie. Meh.
The end looks like a CGI mess. What I wouldn't give for just a basic, World's Finest-esque Batman-Superman story without all of pressure of cramming in the DCU.

This trailer just went full terminator genisys

The final scene with the three of them standing there...that needs to be cleaned up. Is it me or does the CGI in that scene look bad?
And I agree. Doomsday looks awful.
So basically--Lex gets Supes and Bats to fight. Then creates Doomsday from Zod's body. Batman has a bad dream and Superman is in it acting villainously. WonderWoman saves the day. Meh.
I hope there is a lot more story to this or I'll be pissed.

Maybe not. Doomsday has appeared elsewhere without killing Superman.

They have a bunch of other movies announced. Maybe Man of Steel 2 isn't a high priority right now, maybe they want to establish the rest of the DCU first. He could still show up in other movies too.
I read somewhere that this movie will have a lot more Batman than Superman. Maybe they just want him to be the main character of the DCU and Superman is kind of on the backburner for now.

This.
Doomsday showing up out of nowhere would have beeen huge for this movie.
The loudest collective "oh shite" moment I've ever heard frok a theater of nerds was the midnight showing of The Dark Night when the tractor trailer flipped over, and then when Gordon took off his mask.
Doomsday would either have the opposite effect, namely stunned silence, or cause an absolute eruption. Either way, I wish they had saved that.

Same.
That corny as piano and music at the beginning was kinda lame too. No need for this to be funny. Why all the comedy all of a sudden? Keep it dark

Snyder has said that this is essentially MOS 2. He also stated that there will be a lot more Batman at the beginning of the film and then it will feature more Supes as it goes on because Batman hasn't yet been introduced in this universe. That makes sense to me. I just hope Snyder can pull it off. I'm not a big fan of Snyder and wish DC had placed their trust in another director for 4 of their big films.
Also, it was good to see some humor in this trailer. MOS was sorely lacking in the levity department. It was way too serious. Even Nolan's serious Bat films had humor in them.

That trailer sucks as a trailer. As for being a mini movie unto itself, it works. That movie looks like a really cool version of the recent Justice League cartoons. I get kind of a Watchmen vibe from it.

Maybe not.
I don't have a problem with them showing Doomsday in the trailer if there is more to the movie. More surprises.
But if that's the entire movie, I think they made a huge mistake.

I doubt that they could've kept Doomsday a secret. As it is, there've been multiple articles telling us that Doomsday was in the film. We've discussed it here.
They're really damned if the do and damned if they don't when it comes to trailers for this movie. When they just show action shots, people dissect them and assume the worst. When they give us a meaty trailer like this one, people bitch because they've given away too much.
Now we know that Superman isn't dark, gritty character that people have been complaining about. Evidently he saves kittens and begs Batman to stand down during one of their fights. Now we know that they're not at each other's throats for the entire film. We know that they'll actually interact with Wonder Woman and it's not just a cameo for her.
This is a good thing.

Another thing about the Doomsday reveal...
The last Star Trek movie screwed up by repeatedly telling us that Cumberbatch was NOT Kahn. And then the movie plays and... Oh yeah, he's Kahn.
Much better that stop denying Doomsday is in the film. It would've been a boring "oh really" if they'd denied his presence and then thrown him at us anyway.
BTW, I hate Doomsday. But that creature in the trailer looked damn good.
