I'm guessing this theory is only based on the 30 seconds worth of footage we've seen thus far with no hard evidence.

Yes that, along with some supposed easter eggs in a videogame that came out three years ago, some cartoon I've never heard of and some cloud formations spotted on the winter solstice.

It was a lot of reaching with nothing substantive. It would be kind of cool if they did it but I don't think you could include all of that in this movie and have it not end up a mess.
Its not happening, but IMO the only part of that theory I'd find in the realm of possibility was the "v" in BvS represents "5" instead of "vs."

This teaser isn't as ominous as it appears to be. Looking back at the official comic con trailer, there is a scene of "desert storm" Batman emerging from the bunker, and bodies laying everywhere.
So apparently he survives this altercation relatively easily

check out the toy picture on the previous page. "knightmare" batman has been advertised a ton. It's pretty obvious this is a dream sequence.

That is a scene I just would never picture being in either a Batman or Superman movie. So strange seeing Batman in a damn overcoat.

And if they're basing this movie, even somewhat loosely, on the Dark Knight Returns comics, it shouldn't be surprising that Supes is a government shill.
And I'm guessing that Superman doesn't know who Batman is at this point; pre Justice League and all.

I tend to agree with this opinion. That scowl on Superman's face is waay to over-the-top to be real time. And the way the guards bowed down. Definitely a dream sequence.
