Just started watching this last night on Prime and binged the first five episodes. It's very good, would recommend. Lots of dark humor and a very interesting premise. Good actors, good writing, and good all-around good production. Would reocmmend.
It's basically about an ex-con with a secretive past who, through a case of mistaken/stolen identity, becomes the new sheriff in a town run by a corrupt business man. The show kind of has a Walking Tall vibe, with a twist that replaces the sanctimonious, do-gooder protagonist with a sort of anti-hero looking out for himself primarily.

Watched all three seasons. Very entertaining show. Season 4 starts Jan 29th. Part of season 3 was filmed in New Orleans.

Banshee is the shite! Show is insane. New season starts up within the next 2 months. Really sad it's the last

Banshee is so over the top that it is greatness. I think I binged all 3 seasons in two weeks. I couldn't put it down and Anastasia is

Lol. It's a ridiculously stupid show that can be fun. I just have a problem with the morons that act like it's anything other than a simplistic action show.

i like banshee. prison albino scene was the most intense scene i've seen in Premium Cable since the season finale of Spartacus: Gods of the arena.
watched Aloha with the wife yesterday and Ivana Milicevic was in it. i had to catch myself from saying "hey, i've seen her boobies!"

Just binged it myself and could not believe how much I enjoyed it. It's got a real pulp kinda feel to it in the first season. and then it really takes off in the second season and goes to a whole new level.they don't use a lot of music but what they do use is well done. they do a really good job of building and holding tension, especially in the last two seasons. it's got probably the best fight scenes on TV, and yet even though the story is kind of convoluted they seem to do a good job of tying the loose ends together. I have a feeling this is going to be the last season coming up, and I can't wait for it to begin. I can say without a doubt that Banshee is one of my very favorite series right now.

How is it ridiculously stupid? What standards are you measuring it up against when you snobbishly call it a "simplistic action show?"

I agree for the most part on your assessment of the show.. However, I offer no judgement as to what others think...

Its ridiculous and unconvincing more times than not but I really enjoy this show. Proctor is my favorite character in Banshee. Great scene when he goes to his families farm and reminds them that they are only there because "I allow it".
