You rather him talk in a high pitch voice, or talk in an Australian accent? I mean there's not many options for masking his voice.

Not Bale's fault. Batman's voice was adjusted during post production.

When he talks to people that know him as Bruce Wayne, he has to disguise his voice. People that dont comprehend this make me giggle.

Yes i agree with the past few posts. He is Bruce F'n Wayne. One of the most visible people in a huge city. How can he NOT disguise his voice. Thats one of the most realistic parts of Nolans world, that is COMMON SENSE.

His voice was a little extreme, but I always found it funny how in other superhero movies the superhero never changed his voice.

Prince Adam changed his voice when he was He-Man. He also took off the gay pink vest and donned the furry trousers. He hid by unhiding. So I guess Bale was just following his lead.

Eh..I disagree with people here defending the voice.

Keaton pulled off the voice of Batman perfectly. I never got the sense I was hearing Bruce Wayne when he talked and I didnt feel like he was choking on a hamster.

I'll get blasted for this, but I liked BB better than the DK...I could watch BB over and over...Saw the DK once or twice and that was enough for a couple years.

maybe i'm just an origin story kinda guy though

I think the voice gets a disproportionate amount of hate. It wasnt that over the top until the end, and that's because he's hurt.

Honestly.
It's like 0.01% of the movie.

He can't talk in his normal voice for obvious reasons.
His deeper voice would be intimidating to someone he's about to kick the shite out of.

I'm with you. I loved both and rewatch both all the time. But BB and the beginning story is incredible. I really liked TDK just because Ledger put on a legendary performance. When they focus on Batman and his story, it makes for a better movie. Throw in Bane and you have movie deliciousness.

Still don't get a woman being a side kick / vigilante. Why? Why not use Levitt? I know, I admit I am a sexist. Bane, Joker, Batman-these are super heros and powerful humans. A woman in a suit as a cat will make me laugh.

Hopefully they sell a version of TDKR that doesn't have Catwoman.

***People who don't like Batman are people who say it because they are scared to be in the majority. The voice argument is stupid - see why he disguises it from page 1.

The voice could be the fault of post production, but in Batman Begins, his voice isn't nearly as deep. It's sort of in between Keaton's whisper and TDK's growl. It was perfect I thought

He was perfect as Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins. And he was solid as Batman. I gave him a pass as the Batman character...because it was going to take time for him to be comfortable in that part.

In The Dark Knight....wow...Did he drop the ball or what. I knew it was going to be less about Wayne because of the other characters. He was still very good as Wayne, but man was he terrible as Batman. The voice was just terrible to listen to. I really couldnt wait till the Joker or Dent/TwoFace showed up again.

Now whats remarkable is that despite the "lead" lacking in the movie...it was still great.

Hope he does a better job in TDKR. I think Hardy will outdo him like Heath did...but c'mon Bale..at least hold your own..

I'm calling bullshite on your post.

Wht did he sound like in the comics, or you mean you read it aloud in the disguised voice, right?

I actually agree. I thought the story in BB was better.
