I don't think Sara will still be on Arrow so I don't mind it that much. I think its something I'll be ok with if it were for the purpose of bringing her back for Legends of Tomorrow.

Agreed. I could live with that.

The season could have been so much better without Olicity. They wasted so much screen time on that over and over again which could have easily been replaced with a bad guy of the week or a new threat from Ra's. Plus they could have kept Felicity and Ray together which could always provide some comedic relief.

It'll be interesting to see how next season starts. I wouldn't mind keeping Oliver and Felicity together, but if its more of the same constant whining from Felicity again I'll have to give up on the show.

Next season needs to get back to the old formula. Interesting bad guys of the week while introducing a season long bad guy that provides a constant threat of danger to Ollie and Starling city unlike Ra's did. Get Felicity back to her normal self, away from most of the drama and back to her quirky one-liners and unintentional innuendo.

Also, this is something that I don't remember talked about in here, but when Ray asked Felicity to sign something last week, wasn't it a transfer of ownership paper? I wonder if Oliver will get Queen Consolidated back next season. In the future newspaper in the flash, it says something about a merger between Queen Consolidated and Wayne Enterprises, so I guess he has to get the company back at some point.

Laurel took boxing lessons in the Arrowverse for almost a decade..her dad made her do it for self protection. So her training going faster than a normal woman, off the street with no training, is not implausible.

And she was also trained by Nyssa, although not for very long.

quote:

I think they got lost on how to deal with her after the fans insistence on Olicity. Oliver probably would have been training her since season 2, if they were an item.

No doubt. Heck, felicity wasn't even in the cards to be a series regular when they first started shooting the series. She turned out to be a good personality to play off of Oliver's brooding personality, so they kept her around. And that would've been fine if they hadn't caved to the Olicity fans. Now they really have no avenue to redeem Laurel's character after they drug her through the dirt in season 2.

quote:

Hopefully Felicity loses her woman boner for Ollie. Same goes for the fangirls and Olicity.

How are they going to be able to pull that off now that they ended the season with Olicity riding off into the sunset? I think they've painted themselves into a corner now with fulfilling the olicity outcry, and I'm not sure how they can get around it. They could have them breakup and drag out more drama for another half of a season, but who wants to sit through that crap.

Not me.

I was never a fan of Felicity and Oliver getting together. I think it would have been more interesting to have her stay single, but make mentions of Ray or even Barry as "ones that got away" sort of thing. I understand Oliver needs some sort of love interest, but it should be Laurel.

Well I sat down today and binge watched the last five episodes of the season. I had already seen them separately other then finale, but I wanted to see how they worked as the build up to the finale.

Yeah that was really stupid on my part. As a former Chuck fan I experienced the profoundly unnatural experience of being relieved when I saw that a Routh scene was coming on. Add to that the sense of dread whenever an Olicity scene was coming on. It was like bizzaro world Arrow. If Ras had broken out into an interpretive dance I wouldn't have batted an eye by the fourth one.

I knew the writing had gotten worse, but watching them back to back like that really drove home the point. I don't blame the actors for it. I doubt Rickards, for example, had a mild stroke that only destroyed her ability to play an interesting character.

It was a Season Meh. I won't panic just yet, it happens to some shows where the writing and story arc just doesn't come together, but they need to get back to what worked in the previous seasons.

I've always thought that Arrow wasn't the most logical of shows on TV and that it always took itself a bit too seriously, but the way they used each episode as a slow burn to an always entertaining conclusion kept me watching.

The events of this season were to illogical to the point of where it killed my suspension of disbelief and the plot felt like the writers just threw a bunch of stuff against a wall to see what stuck.

Faster than a normal woman yes. But she is defeating male master assassins who literally train 365 days per year. She took after work, as a lawyer which means late hours, boxing lessons. Yes she trained with Nyssa, but this is at most 2-3 months. Nyssa got the same exact training as other league members who have been doing it for decades once again, 24/7. Watch the scene again. Here is Laurel kicking the shite out of 3-4 members of the league. They don't land a single blow and she knocks them all out. Ridiculous.

Oliver only had five years of training. If the writers had stuck to strict logic then the entire cast would've been killed off in the first few episodes. It's a show about earthquake machines and immortal secret kings and scientists who shrink and run faster than bullets.

Just enjoy Felicity's arse and relax like the rest of us.

While I enjoy looking at Felicity, if they have her get killed off by the next bad guy as a way to bring Oliver into the Green Arrow persona, I won't be upset.

I'm hoping their time away reveals to each of them that they aren't in love with each other and they part amicably. Fools hope though.

Smartest thing said the last few pages. Everyone picking the fighting skills of the character apart have to remember one thing. This is a TV show about superheroes. Unnatural abilities are the norm.

You are 100% right, but I'm worried that next season may be more of the same with HIVE. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm hoping with HIVE you get more villains in the same vein as Deadshot. Personalities, back stories, emotions, faces, etc...

With a name like HIVE, it doesn't sound promising (for individuality that is).

But Malcolm is back as a main bad guy, so I'm happy.

And Speedy looks great in leather.

While this season hasn't been up to par with the first two seasons, I didn't think it was as bad as everyone on here is making it out to be.

I do agree with the Oliver/Felicity thing. They don't seem like a match on the show. Oliver should be a bad arse and should be slaying the women. And he should be trying to get his money and company back.

Truth. Laurel should have been brought along like Thea. She was trained every day by Merlin for a year or so and still couldn't take DJ Assassin. Laurel does after work boxing and beats three. Flash has left Arrow in the dust, but hopefully next season will be better. I like the dynamic of them playing off each other. More female leads like Nyssa. More believable when they are already bad asses.

Probably shouldn't watch a comic book show?

Don't watch a Marvel movie for sure. Nobody stays dead in those things.
