Anything Villenueve does expect it to be really good and I will see no matter what the premise.
He is going to absolutely hit a home run with the Blade Runner sequel too, it will be on par with Cameron's Aliens as far as Sci fi sequels go.

I hope so, and am glad to hear it's a sequel instead of remake like I'd thought. And with Villeneuve, Ridley Scott, Harrison Ford, and Ryan Gosling on board this one has potential.

That movie looks terrible. And I like a good alien movie, and I like just about anything with Renner.
Hopefully it's better than the trailer leads on.

I'm guessing it will be very suspensful and a bit of a mystery as to what is actually going on. I figure it will have a feel and tone much like "Prisoners" did.

I think this movie is going to surprise people. It's based on a short story by a very good "hard sci fi" writer, and the trailer looks like they're staying true to his story.

I feel like this is a M Night and a tool concert production. A lot of build to be let down at the end. Hopefully I am wrong.

Ugh, not as interested after watching that trailer. I've really enjoyed everything Villeneuve has done before so I'll watch, but it looks like they took a deep, philosophical story and hollywooded the shite out of it.

hell yes. i'll watch any alien arrival movie (or any decent sci fi for that matter). i know it won't happen in my lifetime, so i can at least see it on the big screen.

I read the short story this weekend, and I agree...still looking forward to watching it, but this doesn't look all that similar to what I read (which was fantastic).
