After last year’s whole debacle with Kyle and then the absolute embarrassment of a finale, I don’t know if I want to commit to it again. But I have such fond memories of the show that I have a hard time quitting it.

Premiere is 8/2 at 7:00 CST.

I have proudly never watched a single minute of any so-called reality show.

Last year was better than the previous year, with the exception of the Kyle debacle, which was blown SO FAR out of proportion, we’ll watch because the kids still like to watch, and just hope that the racial undertones are somehow kept to a minimum.

Last 2 seasons have killed all hope of the show ever returning to what it used to be.

Nah

I left the show behind 3 seasons ago and can’t go back

It’s a different game with the same name

Used to love it. Now CBS is such a POS network I can’t force myself to watch. Even the BB threads on here get me annoyed just reading what goes on in the house. Hard pass.

Last year had some golden moments despite the sour taste of ole girl winning despite being absolute trash at the game.

Kyle nearly saving himself after the house inside/outside split was great

The cookout was the nail in the coffin for me. Seeing the whole Kyle debacle discussed on here was of no surprise to me.

The wheels fell off that show the moment Julie gave Jackson shite in season 21 after winning. Couldn't let him have his moment and we all know why. Season 20 was as good as that show was ever going to get.

I've never seen Big Brother either.

I admit to watching some of the American Pickers show, The New Orleans and Austin Real World's, because I knew both towns. I also have seen every episode of The First 48, but don't lump it in with the other reality shows.

ETA:
If you have to ask the board's permission, go ahead and watch it.

I used to love Big Brother, but I stopped watching a few years ago. So many of the contestants now just seem to be there in an effort to get famous or launch an acting/modeling/influencer career. Production also became annoying and I feel like they lost touch with what made the show/game great.

I'm in the same boat. I watched for abotu 12 or 13 straight years but after the season with cody/jessica I couldn't stand it anymore. It was appalling how those 2 were singled out and treated worse than worm shite by everyone int eh house, yet somehow they had all convincend themselves that those 2 were the bad guys. It legitimately made me angry. I think the season after that was when all the blacks only voted for other black peopel to stay and the whites were too terfified of being called racist. After a few weeks into that season I haven't watched another minute.

What really intrigued me and drew me into the show in the first place years ago was the social experiment aspect of it. Take 20 random joes off the street, yougn and old, hot and ugly, smart and dumb, jock and nerd, etc. All walks of life. And throw em in a house and shut the doors nad watch how thigns play out. That was fasincating ot me. Now it's all young people under 30 that are all influencers only looking to get insta or tiktok clout with one random old person thrown in for diversity. All any of them care about is promoting their own personal brand. It's just not even close to the same show I liked from the start so I have no idesire to watch anyumore.

Fun fact though: my wife and I took our little boy to an indoor play place in town a few months back. I look up and lo and behold it was Rachel Reilly lol. I struck up a convo and she said brendon was in medical school at UAB so they live here now. Wild.

Wow, that’s wild I had no idea they were in Birmingham. I went and found her Instagram and sure enough they do live here. She has videos of them going to different state parks in the area. That’s pretty cool. I’ll admit that I didn’t like her on Big Brother, but I gather she’s probably a much more mature person now.

It became too manipulated by the producers. Like you can nominate both these two people who are against you and will vote you out, instead let me nominate two people who would work with me instead. Now someone else is HoH and I’m on the block, it’s ok, I’m just here to be famous. No one is playing the game. Now just making the show and making the jury and whoever wins thats great. No more cut throat people!

yep there's another gripe I have.
Another is in relation to voting as you mentioned. EVeryone is so fricking infatuated wiht a gotdamn "backdoor" taht phrase has lost all meaning. Used to be, you'd nominate 2 people you want gone. Come veto night if things fell your way, you replace one wiht someone you REALLY want gone now that they can't use veto. Nowadays all anyoen does it put up 2 pawns that barrely register as being alive wiht an attempt ot "backdoor" someone you actually want out. Super annoying.

the season wtih christmas was my jump the shark moment with this. This bitch has a broken fricking foot and eveyrone there threw the PHYSICAL COMP to let her win. Sickening. And they let her vote from the hospital!!
