I've enjoyed the first 2 episodes but haven't really seen a thread on either one.

Am I the only one watching?

I saw the first episode this weekend but haven't caught the second one yet. I enjoyed it some but I hope the second episode starts moving the plot forward more. Also I am not sold on James Franco in those roles.

I am enjoying it.

It calls for a little suspended disbelief with regard to the premise. No one is paying to have sex with Maggie Gyllenhall.

Is it better than Vinyl? Because I lost interest in that one quick.

Watched the first episode when it was available for preview. I'm interested. The fiancee is eating up tv time trying to finish One Tree Hill before it goes off Netflix so hopefully we'll continue watching once that's over.

Vinyl was pure comedy gold. I know it wasn't intended as such but there are plenty of LOL moments.
Didn't realize Deuces started already. Definitely want to check it out. Seems to be the same vibe as Vinyl. I just hope they do a better job with it.

Yeah the launch was kind of quiet. I didn't realize the first episode was out until like a week after a buddy watched it.

I really liked the first one. I liked Vinyl too, but I lost interest quickly because I didn't give a shite about any of the people in it. It seemed really ambitious, to the point where it eventually just wasn't entertaining.

For some reason when I think of both of these shows, they remind me of Magic City (which wasn't a particularly great show, but I found it pretty enjoyable).

I really liked Magic City. Tried Vinyl also but lost interest.
So far I'm liking the general Vibe and setting of The Deuce.

What's the premise of the show?

James Franco gets divorced and decides to run a bar that eventually turns into a strip club drug scene in New York?

Is he part of the mob?

I feel like I missed something watching the first episode. Haven't seen the second one yet

I believe it's a dramatization of the beginning of the porn industry. James Franco's character is going to get involved in it to pay off the gambling debts of his brother, James Franco's other character.

So far, so good. I'm gonna stick with it. Reviews say it starts slow and builds.

Just saw it was renewed for season 2.
