Not just a moon base. According to that picture, there's a base on Mars, the Moon, and at least 4 of the moons of both Jupiter and Saturn.

I'm still hoping that they are throwing everyone a curve ball and Will Smith is actually in the movie. Maybe a small role to set up a third one if it were to go down that road

Looks pretty good. I don't think it'll be great if they take it too seriously, so as long as it's sort of campy and silly, I'm in (although that trailer looked pretty damn serious).
Liam Hemsworth 2.0 = meh, but I'm glad to see Goldblum back, and Pullman as well. And of course, William fricking Fichtner.
Although it's about 15 years too late, I'm pumped about this one.

That makes sense. I always wondered about survivors. Hell, did you see how much of the crashed ships seemed in tact at the end of the first one?
My only issue is about the new ship coming in. Didn't Pullman say that their entire civilization was on the mother ship in the first one? Who the hell are these 2nd guys?

Without looking it up, I think he said their entire civilization just goes from planet to planet another until all resources are consumed. That doesn't necessarily mean the entire civilization was involved in the first attack. Maybe the ones killed in ID4 will be labeled the scouts and now the rest are coming.
You would hope with all of the advances they had with technology, they'd be able to detect the aliens this time by the time the massive ship got to the moon.
