Anyone saw the new Independence day trailer during football?

I hadn't seen it posted here yet, still don't know what to think about this.

I saw it just now during the Seahawks game. Looks like a fun movie just like the original.

Yup just saw it.
It made me nervous, but definitely interested enough to go see it for sure.
I just hope they keep it light. That's what made the first one so great, it had its intense moments but it had some lighthearted comedy and some goofy moments as well.
I really hope they dont try to get too serious.

Roland Emmerich is a hack. ID4 is only a guilty pleasure because of Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum bringing something unique to their characters.

They said they obviously wanted Smith back but they're perfectly fine with him missing out. They want it to be an ensemble about an alien invasion, not a vanity project.

Yeah. It looks good. My father will be freaking out from that trailer. Independence Day is one of his favorite movies.

Which is why he is kind of a dick for not signing on. I usually think a lot of the Will Smith hate is overblown but in this case the fact that he couldn't even be bothered to do a cameo is obnoxious. Even a rope a dope move where he gets waxed at the start of the movie like Steven Segal eating it in the first 20 minutes of Executive Decision would have been acceptable.
