I'm considering dropping Cox and just limiting myself to Netflix and some streaming sites. Seems hard.....I've had cable my whole life.
Anyone completely disconnected? Was it hard? Do you miss cable?

I did and I miss cable. You cannot fully replicate what you get on cable even with Hulu and streamTV. I'm probably moving soon, otherwise I'd re-up on cable.

If it was just me, I'd do it easily. Cable is just more convenient for how many family members I have.
Do you have a roku, chromecast, or amazon firestick? One of those would help.
You could get plex (free app) and wireless stream movie/tv shows from your computer's hard drive to it. Plex is even available on smart tv's for free now. I know Vizio offers it.. then you just download the free plex media server onto your computer and set it up with your plex account.. you'll just login into your account on the plex app and it will organize all your files like a netflix-like layout with all your own movies.

Yep
Only issue is live sporting events, but you can get NFL games with HD antenna and stream anything else, though I cheat and use my parent's cox login for all of that.

I'm too used to the convenience and variety. I can't see going through a lot of effort to put together some sort of patchwork that "almost" duplicates the choices.
