Fun fact, Kevin James' character was originally supposed to be gay but they changed it at the last minute because of bad focus group reaction. He even did the late night circuit before the show came out and talked about playing a gay character. The title was supposed to be a play on words, as he was gay and also living in Queens.

That would've sucked to not have "gay night".

Eta: Actually, Doug called a lot of things gay if I recall correctly.

Outside of Everybody Loves Raymond and All in the Family, this is my favorite sitcom of all time. Can watch this show over and over again.

That's a good one. I also like when Carey is getting Aurthur whatever he wants for dinner, so Doug starts showing Aurthur brochures and gets him to tell Carey to order what Doug wants.

I love King of Queens and Leah Remini was hot back in the day. She's not what she once was, but I'm glad to see her in the new Kevin James show.

When our local FYE was going out of business, they were practically giving away their King Of Queens DVD sets, so I bought every season. Only saw a couple of episodes beforehand, but it definitely became one of my fave comedies. Underrated ensemble cast IMO...

I never watched the show as it aired, but I have caught a decent bit of episodes here and there in syndication and I find myself enjoying it a good bit. It is usually good for a few laughs every time I've seen it. Makes me wish I'd have watched it during its run.

Another episode that I really like, is one where Doug forgets to get Carrie's dinner one night, and it just sets off an insult war, where they just start hurling vicious insults at each other. So they get their neighbor, a marriage counselor to mediate, because their arguments or getting too out of hand. So he tells them to write down disagreements they have on index cards. And I paused the DVR when they had a close-up on the cards, and some of them were hilarious. One of them said "left Arthur in bathtub" lol.

Another part of that episode that's funny is when they discuss what names they want each other to stop using as insults. The list of names are pretty funny. Like Blob Barker and such.
