I just finished watching One Punch Man...it was insanely good...I don't know if I've ever laughed as hard at any show period than I did with OPM...I can't wait for the next season

Probably most of you have seen bootleg copies, but I guess the official US version of Evangelion 3.33 from Funimation is out now. I had ordered it years ago on Amazon and I just got mine in the mail.

Hulu has a new show that is really interesting.

Grimgar: of Fantasy and Ash.

It's kind of like Log Horizon, in that they wake up in a new world. Except no one has memories of their former lives, and I don't think they are stuck in a game.. More Sword and sorcery, similar to GATE or Bahamut in action style. Though yhey do form parties with characters taking different roles like Log too.

The animation is nice too, it's a little different. Kinda like Log Horizon mixed with Rage of Bahamut. But with a softer color palate.

Has a couple similarities to Rage of Bahamut. One character is even voiced by the same VA who did the main protagonist in Bahamut.

Despite its likenesses to other shows, it's completely unique. There are a lot of shows that are slightly similar, just by being Sword and Sorcery fantasies, but this is all alone in its style.

It's really good so far, I have high hopes.

Cool. I've been wanting another show in the sword and sorcery style.

I've been reading Ubel Blatt (Evil Sword) manga and it is awesome. 5 editions released so far.

In the realm of sword and sorcery shows. Have you seen Chivalry of a Failed Knight, World Break, Tears to Tiara, and Kaze No Stigma?

You could also finish Overlord.

and here I thought I was gaining on you.

Trying to think if there is anything in Sword and Sorcery you might not have seen.

Maybe Oda Nobuna? Its pretty good.

Edit: What about Utawarerumono: The False Faces?

Edit 2: Accel World is surprisingly good so far. Different than what we've been discussing, its a gaming fantasy, but more SciFi.

I have been on a bit of an anime kick lately, and I'd like to see if yall could recommend some things for me. Netflix is the easiest for me to watch, but I would be open to other sources.

Lately, I have watched:

Fullmetal Alchemist (pretty awesome)
Psycho Pass (the science fiction thing is a little more up my alley. Loved the dark gritty and at times more philosophical atmosphere)
Seven Deadly Sins (I thought it was a lot of fun)
Attack on Titan (awesome animation. Had a qualm with the plot but overall liked it a lot and look forward to them ever maybe making a second season)
Sword Art Online (it has an interesting concept but I got bored with it deeper into the first season, and I'm not sure I'm really interested in going back)
Knights of Sidonia (just finished watching the second season. There are some flaws, but I tend to be drawn to the science fiction, especially the space opera types. I really enjoy it overall.)
DBZ (I pretty much stay watching/rewatching DBZ. Classic from childhood.)

That's all I can think of off the top of my head right now. I would appreciate some recs that I haven't seen that maybe fit the type of stuff I like. I'm pretty open to different genres too of there is something awesome that doesn't quite fit into what I have listed. TIA.

That's one I actually forgot to list. I recently watched the recent 3 Berserk movies. I haven't seen any of the old show. I have thought of checking out the manga to get the rest of the story because it doesn't seem like they are ever going to continue with the movies.

It's pretty intensely fricked up. It crosses some lines that are too much for some people. I don't think it is with out point, but I would say it's definitely too much for some people.

The new project is a series that's coming out this summer. It will continue the story into arcs that have never been animated, but to me, the preview looks like shite. I'm not a fan of cgi in anime unless it's kept to a minimum and done right. This looks like ps2 era graphics.

The manga is one of the best stories I've ever read.

Read over the last 2 or 3 pages or so, a ton of good suggestions in that style. Hulu has most of them, or several easy to use websites, and of course, Kodi.

The best Sword and Sorcery, imo, is Is it Wrong to try to Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon. No Game: No Life is similar in attitude, but a bit more fan servicy.

I'm also assuming you've watched both Fate series on Netflix?

Also, AccelWorld is kinda neat. Its like a mix between SAO and a Mecha scifi. It's from the same creator as SAO. Lot of people believe they are in the same universe.

I'm thinking of doing a Scruffy style list soon, but broken down by genre and sub genres.

No, I haven't. This will probably be what I look into next.

I don't currently subscribe to Hulu, but if it is what most of the good anime is on then I will probably start with it.

It and Crunchyroll are the best 2 available in the U.S. Crunchyroll is free with ads, but if you pay the monthly fee, there are no ads, and you get to see a ton of shows an hour after they air new episodes in Japan. They just need the hour to write the subtitles, I guess.

I would go with Hulu, and just have a free Crunchyroll. Also, Viewster is free with only 3 ads per episode, and they have Is It Wrong, Log Horizon, No Game No Life, and others. That's less ads than Hulu.

Lets do it. I'll update the OP after its completed.

And Peazey, as he said, Is it Wrong to Try Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon is what Sword Art Online could've been. Watch it.

No Game No Life is good.

Others:

Samurai Champloo
Baccano! (My favorite series)
Hellsing Ultimate (violence and rage animated)
Casshern Sins (remarkably deep scifi/post-apocalypse)
Cowboy Bebop (obviously)
Jormungand (deals with mercenaries and a quirky weapon dealer)
Log Horizon (awesome swords and sorcery)

Those are some of the more mainstream.

There are a bunch more.

Problem is, they are all on Hulu.

Baccano! was super legit, thanks for the rec a couple months back.

Finished Hunter x Hunter and I am about 160 episodes into One Piece.

Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon is next in the queue but I'm not waiting to finish One Piece first lol
