Otter or Bluto?

Otter over Bluto for sure. The question is if it is Otter, Boone or Pinto.

Pinto is, as was said.
Story is mostly told through his eyes even though he's a silent narrator.

I believe the National Lampoon story that Animal House was based on was written in first person by Pinto.
The guy who played Stork was one of the authors and it was based on his years at Dartmouth.
ETA: Doug Kenney played Stork. He went to Harvard and co-wrote the screenplay w/ Harold Ramis and Chris Miller. Miller went to Dartmouth and was nicknamed Pinto.

the "where are they now" narratives at the end spells it out

Dean Wormer is the star - makes the show go.

I'm partial to Mrs. Wormer

I had no idea what a madman Kenney was until I watched Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead. Great doc about National Lampoon.
And I agree on Pinto.

To me, its always been Otter.
Chris Miller, who wrote the book for National Lampoon, was Pinto, so its told from his perspective.

Pinto
Yeah, with an ensemble film with such dynamic, cocaine fueled performances it's easy to miss the lead - which is Pinto for Animal House.
Same thing happened to an even greater degree with Caddyshack - the main protagonist was supposed to be Danny versus Tony as the antagonist. The adults were so funny, it turned into Rodney versus Judge Smails.
