I have that draft saved somewhere. I'll try to find it.

This really hurts - and for posters that will say why do you care about celebrity deaths? I will answer with this, I only have a few handfuls. But it's because they entertain us and we get to know their characters and body of work.

Robin, Michael K., some shite I can't even explain right now.

B99 is my comfort show. If i'm feeling down about anything or need a pick me up this is my go to. Holt was my faovirite from day 1 his dryness was the PERFECT foil to Peralta and seeing their bond grow from co-workers to a real father/son bond was amazing to see.

As most said Andre was great in every role and i don't think anyone thought he could pull off comedy and he got snubbed for Emmy's for 8 years on B99.

O Captain my Captain. RIP.

I feel myself getting emotional again. Last time i felt like this was when Steve Irwin died you just knew the world lost a great soul.

For you young guys who haven’t watched Homicide it was a very well done show and Braugher’s character made the show.

It's a damn shame Homicide: Life on the Street (1992-1998) on www.justwatch.com is not available to stream.

Andre Braugher as Detective Frank Pembleton with Kyle Secor as Detective Bayless made such a fascinating team. Homicide paved the way for The Wire. RIP.

He was great as the tough priest/history teacher at NOLA St. Aug. in Passing Glory (1999). It kind of gives him a Louisiana tie.
IMDb Wiki
quote:

An angry black Josephite priest (Andre Braugher) in 1960s New Orleans goes against the wishes of his parish leader (Rip Torn) as he pushes a basketball game between his unbeaten all-black team and an undefeated all-white prep school team. This is based on the true story of the first integrated basketball game in the history of New Orleans. The plot follows the events leading up to the game between the Josephites' all-black St. Augustine High School and all-white Jesuit High. It focuses on the struggles that Father Joseph Verrett had in trying to pull the game off and trying to earn respect for his team.

It's a $5.00 rental on Prime

If you're not a Jasuit fan, it's fun little movie.

He did a lot of excellent work. Truly an under appreciated actor. And though he didn’t sing he made it seem so in this clip-

I went to Jesuit and absolutely love Passing Glory.

I'm surprised Duets hasn't been mentioned. He was phenomenal in that movie too. It's not actually his voice singing, but I love this scene.

loved when he would be undercover acting like a straight guy. The things he would say about women were so funny.

yeah his deliver of them was usually perfect

He was also great in the peraulta bachelor party episode

quote:

Sergeant Jeffords: We've been at this bachelor party for over an hour, wandering around aimlessly and we haven't done one bachelor party thing!
Captain Holt: Well, Terry, if you'd like, I could share a lewd story. Kevin got me quite horny this morning

One of those rare actors that you can say... he was good even in bad projects. Never gave a bad performance. A shame to hear he passed away.

it's insane to think he got nothing off of B99 and Sandberg did.

don't hear that as a knock on AS. I'm glad a goofy comedy about cops was rewarded and he was great in it. but Braugher stole every scene.

looking it up, he got effed over by Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet being called supporting actors in Modern Family and Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump.

No hate for Tony Hale in Veep, but Holt was a better acted character.

It catches up to you. My dad stopped smoking in 1972. But that and his exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam probably caused the lung cancer that eventually killed him.
