Just finished this show after binging it over the last week. Easily the best live action Star Wars since the OG trilogy. As someone who grew up with Star Wars being a very big part of my life and being jaded by Disney's "content", I was not expecting much and was blown away. It would be good tv if it wasn't in the Star Wars universe, but since it is that only adds to its value.

Going back to my unfounded theory about Kleya being Andor's brother, I've wondered why exactly Luthen had had his eyes on Cassian and, sure, it could have been because he was impressed at the items Cassian was able to procure to sell, but could it also be that Luthen knew Kleya had a brother, she would have been going about Kassa when he first took her in, and he was able to determine that Clem and Maarva were on that planet about the same time, discovered they took a child as well, and kept an eye on them? Kleya becomes deeply involved with the rebellion, and when Luthen learns more about Cassian's life and all that he's been a part of, he knows the pedigree is there to be an important tool.

The problem here those in the first episode when Andor goes to the bar looking for her did not the lady that ran the bar mention that who she thought Andor was looking for had left pretty recent from the bar. I doubt there are many from his home planet running around out there.

Regardless, I'm really intrigued by what her backstory will be.

It will be interesting once we learn who she is. Theories out there are Luthen's daughter, Andor's sister, and Luthen's padawan. Also lets not forget the biggest one floating around that she is Leia.

Was it confirmed she was from Kenari?

And I could see more of the kids made it off. Cassian was by himself so that's all Maarva had the opportunity to "rescue". If anyone else was taken from there, they would have likely been with the rest of the tribe and probably more made it off.

I can see another subplot being Cassian finding a group of Kenari survivors had been rescued and are living on some other planet.

But Leia grew up with royalty, right? Or is there something in the EU that indicates she left the House or Organa?

Yes and why I do not support the theory.

Not in the EU that I know of.

Just finished binging, really enjoyed it.

ETA: Could not believe Filoni or Favreau were not attached when I watched the credits.

Just finished the last few episodes on the plane. I am hooked. Unexpectedly refreshing after the Obi-wan debacle.

I normally don't bump threads...but watched Andor over the holidays, one of the best shows I watched all year.

Like most here I grew up with Star Wars. However, even before the last 3 movies I was over it. Apparently, I just needed to watch a Star Wars show/series that had an original and compelling story, amazing actors, beautiful cinematography, and didn't build up to who could use the force the best to deflect plasma blasts and shoot lightning bolts.

Can't wait for Season 2!

Amazing they told a great Star Wars story without a single Jedi or Sith moment.

I think it helps that they have a finite amount of time they can cover before Rogue One.

That said, it was an excellent show. We just finished it today. I really, really enjoyed the nuances and the building up Andor's background.

The SO hasn't seen Rogue One so he doesn't know what happens and I'm looking forward to rewatching that this week with him. I suspect it's going to make it even more emotional than it was the first go-round.

I dunno, maybe hold off unless it's just a burning desire to watch it again.

He hasn't seen Rogue One, so he doesn't know Andor dies in it. There's still another season, you can let him continue to enjoy it without knowing what happens to the guy. Sometimes, knowing a character will die causes a fan/viewer/reader to disconnect from that character some.
One of the things I hate the most about the sequel movies- I hate that Han and Luke died, and how. I'd much prefer not knowing that, and just continue to have their adventures.

Also, while Rogue One was ok, it wasn't the quality that Andor (the show) has been, and kind of focuses more on Jen Urso. I know the show is only around because of that movie, but if I had to choose, I'd go with the series every time, it's MUCH better.

Don’t think that affected anyone that enjoyed this show.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Last time we saw Luke he was training Grogu. Last time we saw General Han Solo he was being awarded some medal for helping defeat the empire.

No, it didn't detract from my enjoyment of this show episode to episode, but it's a pet peeve of mine. These are fantasy characters, not real people... sometimes there's one we want to continue to enjoy their adventures. Batman, James Bond, Conan, Luke Skywalker etc- I neither need, nor want, to see them get old and die. They are 'immortal', continuously getting into and out of sticky situations. Some have before I was born, all should continue to do so when my kids are old.
Especially characters that aren't set in OUR world (Luke, Flash Gordon, Conan and so forth). There's no NEED to do that, when there's so many further tales yet to be told.

That's why I hate flipping timelines around in Star Wars.

He already got spoiled on it by a coworker. When he mentioned we were watching Andor he was like “That dude that dies at the end of Rogue One? Not sure why they’re doing a show on a guy that dies.”.

fricker.
