New Orleans should be fun. I'm sure they got 100's of fools showing up to "audition" hoping to get on tv. Hopefully they don't show them.

I'm with ya. So far, this season has been devoid of the waste of time nut cases. I don't mind seeing a few people who don't quite make the cut, but not the nuts.

New Orleans has a lot of musical talent. they should focus on that.

Just started watching. So far, so bad. They let drill team girl through she was awful. Harry was against it. I hope this gets better.

ETA: Well, that was disappointing. Bad showing in NO. I liked Quentin.

extremely disappointed ! of the few with even marginal talent only on, the monroe kid was from Louisiana.

I feel bad for Harry because i know he expected better. He's probably embarrassed by the poor showing.

my last post i said something about focusing on the talent and not showing the fools.... so, the first person they show..some fool doing a silly MJ skit.

I would have been okay with them not letting ANY of these people through to the next round.

Well, you haven't seen the last of some of them.

Yeah, they could have left the clowns off. Figures they'd show them during the visit to NO.

Sometimes, the auditions suck compared to what they do in later shows, so while some who get past Hollywood week would surprise me at this stage, they've been a lot better when we've seen them later on. They have a lot of time to work out some things between what we're seeing now and what we see in the Top 24, for example.

When did Hollywood week take place? Right after these shows or was there a lot of time before that happened?

Pretty sure the auditions were during the summer. I know there's a period of time between those and Hollywood week, but I'm not sure how long. Obviously, there's a good bit of time between what we're seeing now and live shows. Some of those folks take voice lessons and do other things to improve. I've heard that mentioned before.

don't you love how some of them beg and say " i will work really hard" ? i mean, should you have "worked really hard" knowing you were going to audition?

Yes, and Keith and JLo are pushovers, though Keith tried to act like he wasn't last night. Harry is the stricter of the judges, overall, though not entirely consistent.

I'm pretty sure what we're watching now took place in Aug/Sept. Nicole Kidman's father died in early Sept and that's when Keith missed taping and Adam took his place. I found that Hollywood week started sometime in October, so that's not a lot of time, but I have a feeling it lasts longer than a week, maybe. They do have a lot of time between Top 24 and live shows to work on things, but they get picked for Top 24 in October, I assume.

I like Keith, but he is too easy and so is JLO.

I use to think singing talent was essentially a talent you either had or didnt have. But after hearing some early recordings of Ed Sheeran im convinced one can teach themselves how to sing if they have the ear.

I think they should add Adam as a 4th judge.

San Francisco auditions tonight. Were there any good NOLA auditions last week?

I'm taping tonight and will watch a bit later.

The New Orleans segment was very disappointing, overall, sadly. I think there was one who had potential, but I can't recall now who that was.
