I just added an Amazon Prime account for order shipping purposes.

Is the included streaming movie inventory sufficient to replace my current streaming Netflix account?

Look around on the Amazon site. You can see what all is available. I'm about to ditch NetFlix because I have Prime and HuLu plus. I just don't need all three. It all depends on what you want to watch. Netflix probably has more older movies and TV series than Prime, but I did see that Prime just landed a ton of HBO series, just not GoT or the current seasons of shows still airing. The only one still using NetFlix in my house is my 6 year old when she steals my kindle Fire and watches cartoons. But I'll just have to show her the HuLu and Prime streaming instead.

Me too, but I've been thinking of dropping Netflix lately, mainly because of their streaming issues, which I understand is more of a service provider problem than a Netflix problem.

I have both. Amazon has a lot of good shows for free right now. I would never get rid of Netflix because of the exclusives.

I use both. There is a lot of overlap in their libraries, but both have exclusives. Go here LINK = and check the "Prime" check box in the left column to see their prime streaming selection.

I appreciate the responses, we will likely keep both for a while and see how much overlap there is.

The Amazon Prime offerings seem decent at first glance.

I have been watching Murdoch Mysteries on amazon.
Entertaining Canadian detective series set around 1900. Murdoch is ahead of the times in solving crime.

I have Netflix also.
