Seems very plausible. I suspect when they make it back they speak to "death" and we learn more about the planet

Good grief.

I am 97% sure that was the best episode this show has had. Fantastic doesn't do enough to describe it.

She has potential to be a very good actor. Impressed me tonight.

I'm pretty sure the planet isn't really alive and that was just Will the whole time. Simmons was alone both times she saw that person in the storm and how do we know that the canyon "grew" wider to keep them there? It was always that wide and Will's map was a lie.

How did he put on and take off that space suit so quickly? She was looking at it, then literally he was grabbing her less than 5 seconds later.

If it were will, why did he help her escape? He seemed distraught at the end when he had used his last bullet.

I haven't read y'alls comments for this episode (I just started watching it, about 5-10 minutes in).

Where the hell did Simmons find the wood for the fire/plant killing stick? There is no wood on that planet? WTF

EDIT: Nevermind, there's the wood.

EDIT2:

Awesome episode

It was obviously not Will. Definitely the planet.

He could've had it laying behind a rock knowing that they were going to look at the sun rise. Anticipating the sandstorm and wanting to build up the myth that he created with her.

Maybe he wants her to bring back more people.

Maybe it is the planet and will is how the planet manifest itself to people that land on it.

Look. I just don't like the dude. He's like Jeff from saved by the bell.

We get you don't like him, but you're really reaching trying to find reasons to justify your dislike.

I would think we will learn more about this mystery planet in the future from Simmons.

I think you can definitely see where this show will help tie into Civil War.

I remember after the first episode or two really disliking both Fitz and Simmons. They seemed both stereotypical young genius characters. But they've both evolved into awesome characters. Of course Simmons got the spotlight last night, but Fitz continues to impress. His reactions to her story and his decision to help despite, or because of, their history was really something. He is probably the most mature person in shield at this point, though nobody seems to recognize him as a leader.

You're not pissed because he got further with Simmons than Fitz ever will, are you?

Which leads me to another question. Is Fitz being beta as hell for helping Simmons get back to her boy after finding out that she was hooking up with him? Or is he being an alpha for not giving a crap if that dude was pounding Simmons, and all he cares about is saving a guy's life?

Fitz will handle this. Before its all over, Alpha won't even adequately describe how badass Fitz is.

This would've been a better place to post my Phoebe gif so can you just look up at it after reading this?

I thought that was probably one of, if not the best, episodes AOS has ever put out. I really liked that it stuck w/just one story line for the entire episode. I feel like that really gave everything a chance to breath.

I agree with all of this.

It also completely reinforces my lack on investment on the Ward storyline. Really just concerned with Fitz/Simmons and their space adventures (and the mythology of the obelisks) and with the Inhuman stuff.

yea, I still want to like evil Ward but it's just hard to care about his rebuild of Hydra right now.

also, unless it's revealed that Martin Donovan as Mitchell Carson was working for Ward in Ant-Man, there are multiple Hydra cells working independently of each other right now so Ward's version isn't even the top dog of them all.

I agree this was one of the best episodes of the show. Fitz and Simmons have evolved more than almost any character on the show except for maybe Daisy/Sky. I'm hoping we don't shift entirely back to ward now and that we see them returning to this storyline soon. Curious how it will all tie together at some point.

I agree ward is a great character but I don't care about hydra much. It's been played out so much already.

On a side note, based on the previews are we to assume May's ex is for sure dead? There was no hint of him escaping in the clip.
