The kid who plays Norman Bates on Bates Motel is British, never would have guessed until I saw an interview.

I already knew Freddie Highmore was English. He played the role of Peter in Finding Neverland and Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Hugh Laurie and Dominic West are both pretty bad, despite their acclaim. They mask problems with gruffness. West in particular I knew something was wrong before I found out he was British. It was very distracting in The Wire.
West has said he struggled with his accent for episodes directed by Brits.

Gary Oldman. I didn't even know that was him in True Romance until I saw the credits. Fifth Element was pretty well done by him too.

This. Can't believe it took four pages..,Drexel, Lee Harvey Oswald, Commish, etc... I remember him being interviewed by someone who said "I didn't even know your were British".

McGregor plays Grimesy

Isaacs plays CPT Steele

Bloom plays Blackburn.

In addition, you had:

Ewen Bremner - Nelson

Ioan Gruffudd - LT Beales

Tom Hardy - Twombly

Matthew Marsden - Sizemore

And as for non-Brits, also doing American accents in the film, there were:

Eric Bana - Hoot (Australian)

Zeljko Ivanek - LTC Harrell (Slovenian)

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau - Gordon (Danish)

And maybe more I missed. Most of the Brits in the film were English, although Ewan and Ewen are obviously Scots and Ioan Gruffudd is very obviously Welsh, by name. And I don't know if Canadian Kim Coates (Wex) technically counts as "doing" an American accent.
