i watched it last night. It was over the top and definitely disturbing. I liked it and didnt like it.

I am sure on future viewings, I will enjoy it more and find the humor more on point.

dicrapio was definitely miscast. He is a great actor but I didn't see him in that role. And jamie foxx is just alright.

I know it's your opinion but get that bullshite out of here

Leo stole the show and it was HIS movie when he was on screen. Dude was hilarious and frightening at the same time.

And it's supposed to be over the top. It's a spaghetti western.

I would call it more stunt casting than miscasting. He crushed the part, but it was such a departure from his normal stuff, that it was distracting at first seeing him have so much fun playing the villain.

Haven't seen Django yet, but I want too. I love Pulp Fiction, Reservior Dogs and IB they are awesome but I just could never get into the Kill Bills, maybe I give them one more chance.

Did you guys feel like those were a bit different from his other movies?

Django is more on par with the Kill Bill's as far as a modern homage/retooling of a classic genre. It's fricking good, but it's not RD, PF, or IB.

The only thing it has in common with Kill Bill is the violence. It's better than Inglourious Basterds in my opinion, but Im a big fan of spaghetti westerns. I also thought the cast was way better. It's too early to rank it with the others after just one viewing but it's definitely top 3 and could definitely become my favorite.

Also, Calvin Candie is one of the best characters I've ever seen in a movie.

He always has good casts, although while he had some real bright spots, I thought the overall cast in IB was down compared to others including Kill Bill. Christopher Waltz and Brad Pitt I really enjoyed everyone else blew, Dogs and Fiction had superb casts.

And I just knew Dicaprio would be excellent as a bad guy, I thought he was absolutely dubious as King Louis in Man in the Iron Mask, thought he would blow the Candie role out of the water and by all reports he has.

although, the cast was deeper with well known names in KB...no one in that cast is of the talent of Pitt,Waltz or Fassbender.

DiCaprio laughs at Fassbender and Pitt (although Pitt is a great actor). Calvin Candie blows Pitts character from Basterds out the water

And Waltz is in Django...

It would be pretty hard to top Waltz from IB, Pitt was too over the top in IB. Jackson was awesome in Fiction and had great chemistry with Travolta. Thought everyone in Dogs gave an excellent performance, no acting weaknesses in that movie.

I wouldn't compare Leo from Django to Waltz from Basterds. Two completely different villains but both were perfect

In fact you'd kind have to say Landa vs. Candie and Stephen.

Though Landa was the best character. Candie AND Stephen create a dynamic that is incredible.
