I have never seen this movie but received it today from Netflix. Is this movie as good as everyone says it is?

It is very bizarre, but one of Kubrick's best films. I hope you enjoy it.

No. People just think it is cool to say it is a good movie. Postmodern sixties crap.

I watched it when I Was like 17 and found it to be quite disturbing. I didn't find it interesting, but just strange and macabre(like the Tin Drum-but not as enjoyalble for the shock). I suppose it's worth it to watch the views on violence and culture.

Great movie IMHO. It is one of a kind and that is the only way I can describe it. IMO it shouldn't be watched without loading a bowl.

This movie is Kubrick crap in my opinion. Just some wild bull shite that you have to be stoned to watch. OVERATED

Kubrick has done one movie that is worth a shite and its Full Metal jacket. Anyone that likes Clockwork Orange is a dumb-arse to me.

That's one twisted movie. I enjoyed it. Don't watch it around children.

The movie was actually based on a book.

It's premise was to wonder what was better:

Complete free will or human conditioning (in direct contravention of free will) in order to work toward creating a common good?

You don't have to be stoned or anything like that to either enjoy it or understand it. Unlike 99% of films that you'll watch in your lifetime, this one actually requires that the viewer dabble in self-introspection and put some thought into the subject matter.

Whether you're a fan of Kubrick's or not, it's pretty universally held that all of his movies dealt with serious subject matter that was relevant to its time and attempted to portray multiple viewpoints on whatever the movie's gist was.

First off, don't judge the film by today's standards.

At the time it was made, this was a seriously screwed up movie.

To the person that said they watched five minutes, do you not realize how worthless your comment is?

Imagine saying no biography of any person in the history of man is worth reading because nothing happened in the first year of their life.

I think the movie at minimum is worth watching once.

You probably won't like it the first time you see it.
But pop it back in tomorrow and you'll enjoy it much more.
