Saw 7P in the theaters and loved it. Rented it a few weeks ago and loved it more. Thought Looper was just OK

Better more entertaining film...plus it's fun. I can't imagine anyone not liking it.

Looper is just okay (and I love time travel movies) but even I think it is so vastly overrated. Meh.

Well I'm sure the rest of the thread made up your mind for you, but I'm all for Looper.

Both are worth renting. Looper was "cool" to be while 7 pshcos was "interesting". Both good.

I thought both weren't that great, but worth watching. I'd say I probably like Seven Psychopaths better. But it was very random. I don't really see what half of the psycopaths had to do with anything

Looper is the far "better" film, and I will fight the Looper haters on this board to the death, as they are just a bunch of pedantic jerks who refused to suspend disbelief and missed the more important philosophical and emotional stakes of the movie. No, the time travel doesn't work, just like every other time travel movie ever made (except Primer). Just go with it. Time travel is scientifically impossible.

But 7 Psychopaths is funny as hell and really, really quotable. Made by the same guy who did In Bruges, which I also love. It falls apart a bit in the final act, but Walken is more Walken than he's been in about a decade. Plus, Sam Rockwell as a psychopath! I think it's more fun.

So, it depends on your mood. If you want something light, go with the Psychopaths. If you want a rumination on the nature of personhood and fate, then Looper.

Both are enjoyable but 7P has more re-watch value to it

Nah. Just saying. I might try and watch it again. I lost interest and cut it off about 1/2way through it

But typically I can't get into movies with Colin whatever in it. Terrible actor imo

Looper is a good movie but there's a shite ton of plot holes (even if you accept all the time travel theory mixing)

This is what I got out of Looper as well. Looper IN MY OPINION was better and more entertaining than any of the Best Picture Nominated films I have seen so far. If I had to vote for best picture, I would vote for Lincoln over Looper based on acting and a bunch of other reasons, but I enjoyed Looper more. I have also seen Argo, Silver Linings Playbook, and Beasts. Looper is better than all of those films.
