i tried to watch the first one with the wife one night on HBO. We were tipsy and saw it on and thought this could be a fun way to get in "the mood"...we spent so much time laughing at the ridiculousness and how horrible the movie was that we just shut it off.

Maybe it's because I have no frame of reference, not having read the books, but I thought it wasn't bad. Same for the first movie. My wife tried reading the first book, and she couldn't even make it to the hardware store scene, the writing was so bad, but I guess we might be in the silent minority who's actually interested in seeing how it all turns out. After a point, it's possible to become genuinely interested in the principal players.

I got dragged into it last week. Was a poor movie. the guys characteristics:

Balance of a gymnast. Check
Plays the piano like Mozart. Check

I tried to get my wife into these books and bought her the audiobook of the first novel narrated by Gilbert Gottfried. I don't know why, but she just wasn't into it.

My gf hasn't read the books, but she loves the movies.
It's funny though, we've been dating like a year and a half and the first time I watched the first movie we weren't dating yet, but were txting a lot and what not. She literally almost stopped talking to me because she said she didn't agree with what the books stood for or some bullshite.
A month or so later we watch it and she loves it. Was counting down the days until it came out.

This is how I am. I wouldn't even care if during the sex scenes the screen just went black and the word 'SEX' just popped up. For some reason the story isn't awful to me, maybe it's because I wish i was a billionaire and got rocked by one of my moms friends when I was a teenager.
