Why would he ask her to go back to the future with him? Won't she be like 70?

I liked the beginning, but the ham-handed love story and 2-D characters have sunk it. Franco has decent moments, but this whole story is going

Agreed. Solid pilot then it fell off the cliff with the love story angle. James Franco cries every episode.

My guess is that he doesn't prevent jfk assassination. The show give clues constantly about how the past resists major changes. He comes back to the future. That old man in the intro becones principle. James Franco decides that is "good enough" with his new wife.

I have them on my iPad but have only watched the first. Is it worth the investment?

I haven't watched yet, but I am curious to see what they change/leave out from the book ending.

ham-handed love story

Anyone that has read the book knows that Jake and Sadie's love story is one of the biggest parts of the book.

Just saw the final episode. No spoilers...but I'm content with how it ended.

spoilers aside, the book was more of a love story with a backdrop of non-overthinking string-time travel theory peppered in.

Exactly. Still was an amazing book and anyone that enjoyed the show would really enjoy reading the book if they hadn't already. Goes into more detail about the role of the guy with the card in his hat. And you can see where the show ventured away from the book and where they stayed true to the story.

I'm only one episode 5 atm but I'm sad if what you posted is true..

I love the yellow card man aspect and part of the story, I hope they don't just leave that out. They did show him twice in the show so far.

Nah he's there the whole show so don't fret.

They just don't go into enough detail about his role imo. His card also never changes color like it did in the book.

Also, I know they didn't have time to do it.....but I really would have loved if the show would have had Jake in Derry and coming across the kids from It like he does in the book.

I must have totally missed the part where it mentions Sadie spent time in Maine.

I wasn't crazy about the ending, but now I plan on reading the book.
