Just such an incredibly smart idea to change the event. The placement of the Zurich on the PGA Tour Schedule made it so tough to get top end players who weren't there mainly because of their sponsors.
It was never really an event I looked forward to as a pretty avid golf watcher, but I'm incredibly excited to watch it this year.

They nailed it by changing the setup. The pros are apparently extremely excited for it.

How are the teams determined? Do players get to pick, is it random, or ranking based?

Playing from the ladies tees on all odd holes. Even holes will be back at the championship tees but the hole will be 30% larger

I believe the top 80 players who commit to the event get to choose whoever they want as a partner as long as they have PGA tour status.. or something along those lines.
