Yep.

Me thinks Garcia is going to have a short outing tonight. But we'll see.

The thing about that is only two have to be on and they will score runs. No pitcher can shut down all six. That's why if the relief pitching holds up, the Sox will win the pennant.

Now, facing the Giant's and/or Phillies, that could be a problem.

Manny Banuelos, RHP: 6 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 1 WP, 6-4 GB/FB – 65 of 91 pitches were strikes (71.4%) … he was up to 93 on the gun and pitched out of a number of jams, including man on third with no outs (ground out, line out, fly out) … only the third time he’s completed six innings this year, and he might have had another inning left in him … he allowed three hits to lefties, two off a former big leaguer (and Mike Axisa Prospect Crush Hall of Famer) … anyway, it’s another very good start for the youngest pitcher in the league

Since the Yanks are going to get hammered tonight, this is at least some great news.

As for Betances...

quote:

Dellin Betances, RHP: 5 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 1 HB, 5-1 GB/FB, 1 E (throwing) – 60 of 96 pitches were strikes (62.5%) … finally surpasses last season’s strikeout total (108, he’s at 109 this year) even though he’s faced 137 more batters

Not bad.

Gardner's first meaningful HR of the year. He usually gets em late in games in blowouts. Don't think I've ever seen him hit one like that to right center either.

Soriano hasn't given up a run in 9 appearances.

SoRoMo in the 7th/8th/9th could be special

And Ayala and Wade also have ERAs under 2. Bullpen is insane.

ETA - frick. Mo and CC blowing it in the most important series of the year
