Via Joel Sherman, the Yankees had planned to send Ivan Nova back to Triple-A Scranton following Thursday’s start against the White Sox, but he pitched so well that they just couldn’t do it. “It is hard to send out a guy who strikes out 10 and walks none,” said Brian Cashman.

Larry Rothschild called the current rotation situation a “crossword puzzle,” and indicated that the Yankees could use their starting surplus to give Bartolo Colon and Freddy Garcia extra rest down the stretch. Not just a few days, but skip them entirely once in a while. The Yankees begin a stretch of 30 games in 30 days on Tuesday (one day off, one doubleheader), so they won’t have any extra off days they can use to rest their starters. Either way, it’s been made clear that no one in the rotation will be shifted to the bullpen.

per RAB
They really had more faith in Hughes than they did in Nova... after ONE good start by Hughes?

Glad Ivan Ooze is making this decision so difficult with great pitching.

Huge on yanks but very nervous - the red sox seem to know how to work the counts up on CC and break through at some point.

Cmon Yankees you're the better team with the better pitcher.

No one denies this!!!

That's right, it's the best. That's why it's on the Espisito.

I'm not sure why... but against Boston it seems like the Yankees lineup has a completely different approach than they do against any other team.

Usually this lineup is pretty patient and takes a lot of pitches... against Boston it seems like they are always swinging early in the count.

What size jersey does C.C. sport? XXXL? 4XL?

I'm not sure why people give CC so much shite for his size.

He's one of the most durable players in the league. He keeps throwing the way he has, I wouldn't care if he's 500 pounds.

You're talking about a guy that's thrown 1137.4 innings(17,154 pitches) since the begining of the 2007 and hasn't been on the disabled list.

On the contrary, you take a guy in Clay Bucholz that is less than half the size of CC and he's on the disabled list seems like a couple times a year.

/end rant

Watching cc pitch is such a pleasure. Complete opposite of watching Aj pitch.

He may be durable. But he's fat. Never said he wasn't a good pitcher.

I enjoy watching Verlander pitch, but cc is more of a "pitcher" while Verlander just over powers hitters.
